Merlyn's

This is a pretty cool place for people who love to game and love to read comic books. They offer an array of merchandise here. It’s clean and organized. The workers are very nice and helpful. There are gaming tables in the rear section. There’s also an internal entrance to the Saranac Commons Food Hall which is convenient.

Wouldnt buy MTG from here. The guy there is rude as hell, and was mad that I didn't spend more when I reserved some MTG cards (which he only limits to reserving 10 cards at a time). Then proceded to rant about how selling me the cards wasn't worth it for him because of the payment processor fees. Said I would buy more cards if he wanted to grab the rest of them, but was told he can't do that. Tried to tell me I had to buy something else, then gave up and just sold me the pack of 10 cards I requested. Was never told about the minimum purchase price. He had 3 opportunities to tell me before I went in. This is all despite the fact that he has the most outdated website that requires you to sift through excel spreadsheets to see what he has in stock, and send him an email. I have been to every other store here in Spokane, and never dealt with this. Really wanted to like this store.

Love Merlyn's. Great comic selection and plenty of boxes to dig through if you enjoy searching for older stuff. Good tabletop and manga selection too. Right next door to the saranac commons, even has a door straight to there. Love this place. Swear by them, and have friends who play Magic and swear by them too. Love the staff here

Always love coming in here, old school store kind of feel. They do really need to dust a bit though. They have cabinets of clearance stuff right at the front that is just coated in dust and they have these really nice skylights which make it feel really bright during the day but you can tell it’s faded the boxes of things that have been on the shelves for a while.

Rude customer service. I went into Merlyn's last night and things were good. I was greeted and went about to browse the comic section. By the end of my shopping experience, I was seeing what Magic cards they had behind the counter. The gentleman had said, "If you're looking for Pokémon cards, we're sold out." I responded that I was looking at the Magic cards to see if they had the deck I was searching for. Then he kept bring up that they were out of Pokémon cards, even though I had mentioned I wasn't interested in purchasing any. By the end, I left after purchasing a pack of Magic cards.
