Disappointing Pre release I attended the One Piece OP-17 prerelease at LA Sports Cards in Burbank on August 25 and was disappointed with how the event was handled. It was a 16 player tournament and while usually stores hold however many they can. They did only one tournament. Players were not told what the prize support would be until the final round, other than being told there was only one winner/prize card. Later, some players said they saw additional prize cards in the back, and when the owner was questioned about them, we were told the store intended to keep them. Prize support ended up being starter decks with no additional booster packs, while OP-17 boxes were being sold for around $400. The tournament organizer also left for a break before the final round, causing everyone to wait around 15 minutes. The event also felt poorly organized because the prize structure was not explained clearly at the beginning, and there was no clear communication about whether the additional prize cards were part of the event’s official support or being withheld by the store. If the store had a specific policy for distributing those cards, it should have been explained to players before the event began. TL;DR: My biggest issue was the lack of transparency. Players should know what they are competing for before or at the start of an event, especially when promotional cards are involved. Combined with the confusion over the additional prize cards, the limited prize support, and the delay before the final round, the whole experience left a bad impression.

Really nice workers. The shop looks great and it has a great selection of singles like raw, slabs, and sealed. They have one piece, football, soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, and Pokemon! They have great deals! Come to the shop if you are in the area!

Had a great experience at LA Sports Cards. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and actually took the time to talk with customers instead of rushing people out. The shop was well organized, the selection was solid, and the overall atmosphere felt friendly and professional. You can tell they care about both collectors and the hobby itself. Definitely one of the better card shops in the area and worth checking out if you’re into sports cards or Pokémon

We love LA sports cards and have been coming here for years! They have good prices on Pokemon TCG. Maddie and EJ are awesome and will take care of everything you need. Plus they're cool to talk to!

I love this place. A great variety of cards, (as a Pokémon collector myself ) a good layout and the sections are organized very well. The problem, the price, many of the packs and boxes are overpriced. Not the best place to go to when on a budget.
