Kirwans Gamestore

I hade to change my review. My wife and I come here a lot to buy pokemon. Normally we never have an issue. However we came here yesterday to trade in some cards in hops of buying some sealed and some singles. We got there right before they opened. When we went inside we we're just looking at some other singles seeing what we wanted. I politely the guy on the counter that has the if the other location in the Catskills open where he replied "I have no idea, I couldn't tell you in sorry.." the attitude caught my wife and myself so off guard. That the whole vibe weird weird.. my wife and I and immediately left.. not for nothing, but if you work for a company that has multiple locations isn't it like a nonbrainer to know the hours of other locations, also how are you soo miserable that early in the morning? Perhaps is the time to find a new profession, this one doesn't seem to agree with you anymore. I'm now forced to go to champion.

very helpful and friendly workers! i’m new to pokemon cards and was honestly a bit anxious to go in and ask to look at cards, but the workers could not be friendlier, especially darryl! very thankful to be local to this store and will be coming back for cards (hopefully i will catch when a piplup card is up for sale lol!) and learning how to play!! :)

Not a comic book store, they didn’t order a single copy of the much delayed Saga Deluxe Edition Book 4. I used to give them a lot of business last time I lived in the area, was looking forward to picking this up since it came out on my Birthday, I won’t be returning. Terrible

This is my go to store to play card games. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and are always willing to help me anytime I visit the store. I give it five stars but I wish the store was a little bigger so multiple card games could run on any given day!

“Kirwan’s Game Store absolutely deserves a full five stars. This is one of the coolest and most well-stocked game shops in the entire Hudson Valley. Every time I walk in, I feel like a kid again. The place is packed with everything you could want — card games, board games, manga, comics, minis, accessories, collectibles, and new releases you don’t always see in other stores. The layout is clean, organized, and easy to browse, which makes the whole experience relaxing and fun instead of overwhelming. The staff here really makes the store shine. They’re friendly, laid-back, and incredibly knowledgeable about everything they sell. Whether you’re into Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, D&D, or just getting someone a gift, they’re patient and always willing to help. I’ve seen them answer long card-list questions, explain rules to new players, and give honest recommendations without ever feeling pushy. That kind of customer service is rare. I also appreciate their trade-in policy. Getting 50% market value in store credit is extremely fair, especially compared to other game stores. And if you have a long card list, they actually let you email it in ahead of time — which saves a ton of time and makes things easier on everyone. Overall, this store is a gem. Whether you’re a collector, a casual gamer, or shopping for someone who loves comics and cards, Kirwan’s is the place to go. Highly recommended.”
