J & J Games N Hobbies

Place has a great selection, the staff was friendly, but this place STINKS. I know fountain in general has a smell about it, but this place reeks. Smells like the foulest gamer stench that's been sealed into the walls/floor. Place has been blessed by papa nurgle himself. I'm not gonna ding the rating due to the smell, but you're not gonna find me doing a 5 hr mtg/warhammer session here. Might be a drain issue, might just be fountain itself, might be in the hvac system, but there's gotta be mold up in there or something. Hope they figure it out. Go visit them, but maybe bring a mask/vapo rub or the miasma of gamer gunk will smack you in the face like prime mike Tyson.

I love this place. Seems to be family owned and everyone I've interacted with has been awesome. Has a decent selection of Mtg, enough to bring me back for more. I always see a decent sized crowd in their gaming area, so that's cool to see. They have puzzles, plenty of figures to choose from. Very nice, smaller sized store.

As an outsider that doesn't participate in tabletop/card games, and only came here for acrylic paint I can confidentially say this feels like a gamers safe space. If I was into board games or the like I would absolutely spend time here. I'm totally ignorant on Army Painter acrylics and washes, but I needed some for a non minifig project so I asked the staff about them, and they answered all my questions and even gave me advice on how to make my own. I've made probably 3 trips to J&J in the span of a week, and each time I went they have welcomed me with open arms, and never once did they dismiss my questions or come off as annoyed because I was new. Very knowledgeable and helpful people. Weekends are pretty cool too. I came in on Friday(?) to buy paint, and there were a couple people playing beyblade. Little doggo running around. Some people shopping and others were playing games next door. There's a really homey vibe here and I'm sure it would be really easy to make friends.

Used the Uhaul service and we ended up getting charged for a cleaning fee and a gas charge. The gas was already low and we really didn’t drive far in town with it. And then the blamed us for it being low and then the cleaning fee? There was nothing inside of the truck. There was no reason for that charge. They just seem like scam artists. Idk if the owner just thinks ppl have money to spare? I think it’s the woman who’s there, idk. But we were stolen from and ripped off and we don’t understand why. They need to be shut down in our opinion.

I went in for a box of cards and paid for them in cash. Immediately afterwards they said they don’t have what I wanted so they tried to get me to buy something i didn’t want. They were extremely rude and unpleasant to talk to. They didn’t want to give me a refund and said they’d have the box for me tomorrow. i went in the next day and they were still very rude and weren’t helpful in any way. The staff just threw a box at me and told me to “look it up before i come back”. i left without another word and i hope these employees get fired. i’ve never had customer service so bad. i believe i got overcharged as well
