Hoplite Games

We used to check our hoplite when they were located on East Michigan Ave and never had an issue. We typically were super excited about their deals and what new stuff they had. We found out they moved and wanted to check them out and it was not a great experience. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly gentleman and things seemed to be okay but once we were ready to check out it was extremely awkward. The place looks abit run down and like a huge garage. The back room doesn't have much ventilation and they dont have as much product as they did before. There was a group playing dungeons and dragons in the back including the person who had first greeted us and when we tried to flag him down or wait until he was done with his turn, he never helped. It felt like we were interrupting their game to buy something. We ended up putting back the items we planned to buy and just leave. I dont think we plan on coming back. It was just an uncomfortable set up.

Amazing place for all kinds of games. Great space for play and good options for products. Magic the gathering selection is nice and they have some nice singles to look through. Definitely check the place out.

This place is relatively new and because of that, they are barely getting into connecting with Wizards of the Coast. So if you are coming for anything other than magically gathering such as war hammer or live action role play, I think this is a good spot for you. The magic scene needs a lot of work, but I was still able to get in a couple of games of (extreme casual) commander.

Hoplite Games is without a doubt the most fantastic game store I have ever been to. The play space is nice, lots of fun terrain to work with, and the community they are building there is very welcoming and chill. Warhammer 40k is my hobby of choice, and there are a lot of great people to play with there!

Nice new game shop in Lansing. Incredible selection of new and hard to find games at very competitive prices. Bryan and Jess were there demonstrating a new game and were really friendly and helpful. There is a space for role playing and a massive library of games available to play in the shop. I truly look forward to visiting the next time I'm in town. Glad they were open until 8pm! UPDATE: Hoplite moved just down the block about a year ago and tripled their space. The selection of games has grown, and they now have a large dedicated space with tables for MTG and multiple high tables for miniature gaming. Met the owner, who was super nice. I'll add some new photos. Games were priced competitively. Great selection. Will visit every time I'm in town.
