Hobii House
7017 Miami Ave, 45243 Madeira, Ohio
Hi! I'm Trey, and I opened Hobii House about a year and a half ago. In just a short time, we've established an incredibly diverse and unique group of individuals that frequent our store and *want to* spend their free time there. We hold "House Parties" twice a month where collectors can trade, play, and hang out with each other. We've quickly grown into a play hub for collectors around Cincinnati and have plans on expanding into a beautiful flagship style store over the next 8 months. We have a core group of 8 players that have literally begged us to be a part of the Ravensburger Play Hub and are ready to hop in and join in on the fun on a weekly basis. We currently have play nights on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday– and would be adding Lorcana to the mix on Fridays. If you need to know sales numbers etc. I'd be happy to discuss that with you all on a phone call. Thank you all so much! -Trey

Had some cards I've sat on for a number of years. Traded them in for single cards and store credit. Reasonable prices for where the Pokémon tcg hobby is currently. Singles prices are really good and properly valued for condition. The two people I talked to were friendly, helpful and the environment is as good as it gets for a card shop. Support them.

TLDR: Best customer service of any TCG shop in Cincinnati! (IMO) I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life and have been playing TCGs for almost 25 years. I have been to nearly every store in the area over that time and played in many tournaments around town. I recently got into Pokemon after being a MTG player predominately. A couple weeks back I sat down at the counter and asked to look through a bunch of commons to build starter decks. While I sat and searched, I got to see the owner interact with ~5 different customers. Every single person was taken care of and spoken to as if they were family, which is a stark contrast to a lot of the shops in the area. I was already sold on this shop being the best in town, but the owner went above and beyond for me yesterday. I was going to play in a tournament last night at a different shop, and needed to find a particular card that I had called 10 stores for already (everyone was out of stock). Hobii house is closed on Mondays, but I figured I would give them a call and leave a voicemail if nothing else. The owner (Trey) picked up the phone even though they were closed and worked out a way for me to pay and pick up the card after they left. I've never seen another shop put in that much effort for $15 and a customer they've interacted with once. 10/10 would recommend!

For nearly 30 years, I abandoned collecting cards of any kind. Recently, I convinced myself that the time had come to part ways with my library of vintage Pokémon cards from the Base Set, along with the Jungle and Fossil expansions. After searching for nearby TCG-focused shops, I discovered Hobii House. With my collection in tow, I ventured to Madeira, riddled with indecision. The moment I stepped through the big blue door, I was immediately transported back to my youth—waves of nostalgia flowing from every direction. The space is well-kept and filled with an incredible amount of eye candy to take in. Trey, the captain of the ship, warmly greeted me as I browsed the inventory like a kid in a candy store. We chatted for a bit, discussing how much has changed within the Pokémon realm and the possibility of passing my collection on to other enthusiasts. That conversation, along with my time in the store, completely changed my mindset. I was won over and no longer ready to give up my collection—at least not yet. In fact, I've rekindled the thrill of chasing those feel-good moments that ripping packs of cards has to offer. It's safe to say that I will be a frequent flyer at Hobii House. It's hard to beat a strong first impression, kind and accommodating staff, and a positive experience with every visit. I'd like to extend my gratitude to Trey for graciously welcoming me back into the hobby, and to his entire team for creating and maintaining an environment that truly caters to collectors, enthusiasts, and the community. If you're a collector of trading cards—regardless of the type—you're sure to find something that grabs your attention. I recommend giving the shop a chance to capture a little piece of your heart. Attached is a photo of a few of my most cherished pulls from packs I've purchased at Hobii House.

We visited Hobii House for the first time today in the recommendation of another card shop. We were super impressed. The store was very well stocked. They had just about anything Pokémon card related. They had brand new sets for good prices as well as tons of vintage. The owner was very friendly and answered all questions my kids had and genuinely engaged with them. I was able to buy a hand full of singles I was looking for a decent prices. We will definitely be back.

I loved how kind and inviting they are every time I go into the store. They have given me so many good tips and tricks in what to get too so I could get the most out of what I buy. Although, the cards can be pricey. Overall, a great place to go if you’re interested in cool card conversations, trading, and buying!
