Apparently Luigi and Waluigi have traded the Mushroom Kingdom for HobbyTown Toms River, and customer service was an excellent career pivot. I stopped in today and was lucky enough to get the full Mario Bros. experience. "Luigi and Waluigi" were both incredibly kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and — most importantly — willing to participate in some completely unnecessary banter that turned a regular shopping trip into a genuinely fun part of my day. Between the two of them, I got great recommendations, actual answers to my questions, plenty of laughs, and the kind of customer service that makes you want to come back. Great store, great selection, and an even better staff. If you need help, just look for Luigi & Waluigi who look like they’ve been focusing on hobbies instead of rescuing princesses. Disclaimer: “Luigi” was his coworker’s designation. I was simply granted creative liberties for casting Waluigi. Both knowingly approved.

I was recommended to them by an old friend. She told me to ask for Gene but when I called & explained my issue, I was told Randy is who I would need. Everyone was very honest & helpful. More than fair with pricing & timeframe on repair. First impression was solid. Hopefully, they can resolve the issue with my son’s PS5.

Used to be a great place to buy pokemom tcg products... Not anymore. (Updated) You raise the limits of the packs of sets that nobody wants out of all the sets to start doing that with... & raised the prices. The only reason I'd come here because it was still close to msrp, not the secondary market prices that people are getting scammed on. I don't blame the owners its just not for me. The policies keep changing EVERY set. I bet celebrations and the set after it will be 1 pack limit again... Also raising the price from $6 per pack to 8.99 per pack IS NOT a little increase. Thats a 35% increase if not more.

My family and I LOVE hobby town! Staff is always so kind and helpful. They always have what we need to support our various hobbies, models, LEGO, and puzzles! And, they have a great fidget selection, including nee doo’! Definitely give them a visit.

I recently visited HobbyTown in Toms River to purchase Pokémon cards, which are advertised as being limited to one pack per customer. I’ve always respected this policy and have seen it enforced consistently — until my most recent visit. While I was there, I watched another customer request three packs. Despite the clearly stated one-per-person rule, the employee at the counter agreed and sold him all three. When I asked if I could also purchase three, I was told the exception was only made because they “knew him” and the cards were supposedly for his kids — who were not present, by the way. So the policy is firm for regular customers, but flexible for friends and familiar faces? That’s not a policy — that’s favoritism. It’s also poor business ethics. If a rule exists, it should apply to everyone, not just those the staff happen to know personally. To make matters worse, when I returned the next day, I heard the one-pack rule enforced again on another customer with zero hesitation. The inconsistency is obvious, and frankly, it leaves a bad taste. If they want a system where certain people get priority, they should at least be transparent about it — like a paid membership program — rather than pretending the policy is equal while quietly bending it for select individuals. I still purchased a pack because I genuinely enjoy collecting, but the experience showed me this store plays favorites. That’s not fair, not professional, and definitely not a good look.
