(Updated 07/02/26 to 2 stars as GameTime has announced the return of cash prizes for weekly Pokemon TCG Play, as well as anyone 10 and under can play for free! Hopefully this review will continue to trend towards 5/5 stars with more store improvements) During the first year of the shop’s opening I would’ve given GameTime 5/5 stars without a second thought. If things can improve and change for the better, I will change this review to 5/5 stars easily because DJ and Randy personally are not bad guys to interact with and the store has so much potential to be greater than it is. The original message the store sent when it grand opened was to be different than other shops in the area and not price gouge for solely to increase profits purely. Since the Pokemon scalper craze has taken hold of most people in the TCG space, GameTime also seemingly has fallen into the trap of this. From price gouging at release for new product at times up to 1.5-2x MSRP for brand new sealed product on release day that comes direct from the distributor, to Facebook posts purchasing seemingly what it looked like was 50 sealed ETBs and almost the equivalent amount of Booster Bundles also sealed from a scalper for a brand new set 1 month after release, to the insane price inflation of product on their store shelves. All of these issues that I don’t remember being the case during the 1st year of the store’s life are anti-consumer for people trying to enjoy the TCG hobby and just collect and play their favorite TCGs. The excuses of Ebay pricing, alleged claims that distributors stole product/held for ransom unless GameTime paid higher for the product to be shipped completely, market conditions, etc have to not only myself but many others just become nonsense excuses used to price gouge customers. A single pack blister with a mini binder at a nearby store was listed for $7.99, and on the same day that was listed at a Pokemon Trade Day at GameTime, the exact same blister at GameTime to my recollection was stickered at almost twice the price point. I believe it was either $12.99 or $13.99. When confronting DJ about why the price was so high, the claim was Ebay pricing. At a certain point it’s difficult to justify that reasoning when the other store has the exact same product for half the price point on their shelf, and they employ 5-6x the amount of people that GameTime does. Not only just that, but back during the beginning of Lorcana’s life cycle it was caught on livestream in multiple instances that a competitor was cheating and eventually that competitor was banned from GameTime permanently. This competitor directly compromised my ability to receive a promo card for finishing top 4 in said Set Championship due to the cheating, and I was not given any kind of compensation for the incident. I was told because I didn’t report it then and there at that very moment that there was nothing that could be done, but because my match with this individual was off-stream and the judge of said Championship being DJ was also running the store simultaneously, there was no way for me to prove it happening at that moment. Later on stream the exact complaints I made were caught on camera, and I was not even given my entry fee back. Since that experience, I have rarely returned to GameTime outside of a few instances to see if anything has changed, and seemingly things have only gotten worse and more scalper-esque. I wish the store was how it was back in its first 12-18 months of business as it was the best store in the area. DJ and Randy seem to be good people personally, but the business practices over the last 12-18 months make not only myself but others in the community question their ethics and actual care for the TCG community they cultivated and seemingly abandoned in favor of profit. Again, if things improve and issues are addressed and fixed, this store would easily get 5/5 stars as the extensive knowledge of TCGs that DJ and Randy have is immense and they are actually very helpful for people trying to get into the hobby

I gave this shop three chances. I sold them some hard-to-find cards, asked them to hold a Baby Shiny Lucario for me, and came back as a repeat customer. When I found the Lucario plus 15 other Baby Shinies I needed, the market value was $78.28. Even paying cash and offering $85, they wanted $106. It felt like they were pricing the cards based on my interest rather than fair market value. That’s not the kind of Pokémon shop experience I’m looking for, so I won’t be coming back.

I’ve always had a pleasant experience at this shop. DJ and Randy are always very pleasant and helpful. I’ve caught myself spending well over an hour just looking at cards and talking with them. They have a good selection of cards and older sealed products. I highly recommend this shop for any of your tcg needs. They even carry paint for miniatures now!

This store has a ton of options for singles and sealed product. Single inventory is large with some more desirable chase cards always going in and out of the showcases. The owner and staff are very helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. The prerelease events are fun. Always a welcoming community in the store. I would recommend stopping in at Gametime.
