GameStop - 7802 - Elko Junction

The staff at this GameStop acted like they couldn't care less about their jobs or the customers. There was no greeting, no effort to help, and the overall attitude felt dismissive and uninterested. It seemed like helping customers was the last thing they wanted to do. Customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately this location completely missed the mark. I won't be coming back.

Absolutely disgusting experience at GameStop today. I watched employees push overpriced Pokémon mystery packs and massively marked-up products onto a young customer who appeared vulnerable and didn’t seem to understand the value he was getting. After he opened bad pulls, they immediately offered him almost nothing back in store credit and pressured him toward an even more expensive $300 Pokémon box. These gambling-style sales tactics and scalper-level prices are terrible for the hobby and especially harmful to younger or vulnerable customers. Parents and collectors should be very careful buying Pokémon products here.

This is the first time I’ve written a bad review but the older guy that works there is extremely rude. I’ve been there a couple of times and I have had multiple bad experiences with just him. He talks down to you, gives attitude, and is genuinely unhelpful and tries to oversell you on literally everything. They also tried to tack on the membership without letting me know. Then got snippy when I declined it.

Not too happy with it. I wanted to go in there and wanted gamestop to be the first place I go into and it was 6:45 when I got there they close at 7 SHARP. So when I got there what do you know they close early, if your gonna close like 20 or 10 minutes early dont open the damn store at all, I dont know if its that they wanna be lazy or what...honestly

To start, it is a convenient place for merch and gaming. The gaming industry does come in droves so there will be busy days and packed event days. Be patient with the staff if you need assistance because they're doing the best for the company they work under. The staff are knowledgeable and can answer a plethora of questions, but if you're not a big gamer or nerd and you're shopping for a friend or family member, it will help both parties if you take notes on what the person is looking for or wanting. Cut the mental frustration and you will leave more confident in your decisions.
