I had an extremely disappointing experience with GameStop's handling of my Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions Poster Collection pre-order. Back in early May, I pre-ordered two copies for $40 each using my Pro membership. About a week later, I decided to pre-order two more—the maximum allowed. By then, the price had increased to $45 each, which I accepted without complaint. The original release date was May 22nd. I went to the midnight release only to find out the product had been delayed until June 6th. While I was there, I purchased two ETBs for $90 each. but didn't even receive the advertised store promo card. When June 6 arrived, the product was delayed again, this time until July 1st. I made multiple trips to the store only to be told it had been pushed back again. I left for vacation on July 1st before the shipment arrived, still. On July 2nd, I called the store after they confirmed my pre-order was available on July 3rd. I explained that I was out of town and would pick it up when I returned. At no point during that phone call—or during any of my previous visits—did anyone mention there was a 48-hour pickup deadline or that I would be charged a higher price if I couldn't make it in immediately. If told this, I had friends/family that could have easily secured my order. When I finally returned to the store, I was told I had to pay the difference between my fully paid pre-order price and the current price. The store was now charging $60 each, meaning they expected me to pay an additional $18 per copy, despite the delay being entirely outside of my control and despite never informing me of this policy. An employee named Matt called the manager and spoke with them for about 10 minutes, but the manager refused to honor the price I had already paid. At that point, I canceled every pre-order I had with GameStop. To make matters worse, the current market price on TCGPlayer, local card shops, and card shows is around $41 per box, yet GameStop wanted $60. This wasn't just about the money—it was about poor communication and customer service. After multiple delays, multiple trips to the store, and a phone call where I specifically explained my situation, I expected GameStop to stand behind a fully paid pre-order. Instead, I was treated like the inconvenience was my fault. I will never buy anything from GameStop again. Small edit: I was able to go to a card show and get multiple of these for 30 each. Go to local card shows / business. There is a reason this company is called GameScalp.

Today I stopped in looking for a game for me and my wife to play together. Even though the shop didn't have it, the team member there around noonish was super helpful and great advice. Ended up getting my first pokemon newer pokemon game in like 5 plus years, and it has been so much fun. Top level help and advice, great group overall, plus the magikarp shirt was a a+ recommendation

Wish I could just get my game and leave without being asked if I want to join their club or add “protection” to everything. The employee asked me 4 times about their membership until I had to shut it down. I understand it’s corporate but good lord I will never go to GameStop again after this

Sal provided such an outstanding experience at GameStop. I ordered online for pickup and was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in. The store was clean, well organized, and truly a dream for both kids and adults. When I shared why I was there, Sal and his colleague immediately stopped what they were doing, grabbed my order, and checked me out quickly. I mentioned that my 7 year old son is obsessed with Pokémon cards, which Sal instantly related to. After patiently listening to me explain and ask questions as a very clueless mom about what my son likes, he took the time to tell me about the upcoming Pokémon Ascent Heroes box being released on Feb 20 and the benefits of preordering it. I ended up preordering without hesitation. What really stood out was Sal’s thoughtfulness and genuine kindness. When I asked about the XL large Pokémon cards, he confirmed they were real and then briefly disappeared into the back. He returned with two large cards for my son and one for my daughter. I was so surprised and offered to pay, but he insisted I take them free of charge. The fact that he remembered I had a daughter and made sure she was included meant so much. Sal is a rare find, and GameStop is lucky to have him. He truly went above and beyond when he didn’t have to, and because of him, GameStop has gained a loyal customer who will absolutely be sharing this wonderfully positive experience!

Better off shopping online elsewhere. Don't trust their online site either. I purchased a brand new Marvel Legends helmet that arrived damaged and the customer service representatives are so unprofessional, they hung up on me!
