Came in several weeks ago to sell my console, the guy was rude and unwelcoming. It was unsettling. There was a brief issue with him logging in to my account, eventually he would have been able to log in as a guest to check the updates and condition. I mean I’m trying to sell my console, so it’d make sense to go in and delete the account off the system? Well I guess not because the dude wanted to log into my personal account to “verify the system isn’t banned”. Never in my life heard of a system ban. Accounts can be banned but given how much people do with their systems that actually should result in a console ban - I felt like that statement was full of baloney. Also kept criticizing the controller I brought with it. Just because it was used? It had a lil crud on it, just needed a wipe down. The dude who runs the place seems to not enjoy his job. GameStop is meant for nerdy connoisseurs and the employees are meant to helpful ? Anyways. The login issue persisted and told me he couldn’t take it because he couldn’t log into my account. The console was fully updated the day before I had brought it in. He could’ve checked that if he logged into under guest and checked the settings. Anyways I left and decided to go to the location at the Lakeside Mall. The vibes and the employees were immaculate and had amazing conversation the whole time. No issues with the console, didn’t criticize me, and were VERY happy to answer questions. A very different experience than the one in Slidell. Never coming to this location again.

Well I use tap pay and ran into a issue and had to be there for about 15 minutes. Mind you im making a large purchase over $1200. They complained alot , about the job the store and having to give me time to get my funds straight. When I asked other questions about the cards there stocking and some of the light novelties they sell. It felt forced and the information was I dont know or bare minimum 😕. Hardly no interaction or positive vibes. The whole experience felt awkward, so I decided to cancel my visit and drive to the Gulfport store for better service.

Love the stuff but whoever is working the register right now has a terrible attitude and employees like this is why GameStop is dying unfortunately. After he closed down the store.. at 1:45pm

I’ve been shopping at GameStop for years and never had an experience like this before. On September 14th, 2025, my fiancée and I went to the Slidell, LA location (796 E I-10 Service Rd) for the Pokémon Twilight Masquerade ETB restock. When I asked if they had any, one employee told me no. Moments later, another employee said yes, they did. I explained that my fiancée and I each wanted one, but he cut me off and very rudely said, “It’s one per household, I’m telling you how it is.” He then added, “We only have one anyway.” After I bought the ETB, he pulled out another one — which he admitted they were “saving for themselves” — and only then allowed my fiancée to buy it. We did complete both purchases, but the way the staff handled the situation made it extremely tense and awkward. With how toxic the Pokémon card community has become due to scalpers and employees holding stock, I expected better professionalism here. Other reviews mention similar issues, so this doesn’t feel like a one-off. I hope GameStop addresses this, because customers deserve fair treatment and transparency.
