GameStop - 574 - Oakland Plaza

With huge plushie boxes in the middle of the store, it feels super cramped. The game selection is lacking. Plus, one time, before i was able to check out the only employee there decided to leave me alone, so I wasn't able to buy anything even if I wanted to.

Every time I come in here, it’s almost like I gotta Argue with the staff get the thing I want. I literally come in here get a new controller for my Xbox And they kept arguing with me that I should get a used controller which no I don’t want A used Controller If I wanted to use controller, I would ask for one. And then I’m assuming because I was getting annoyed Having to argue about the product I Actually want. He only offered me a new pink controller The guy Didn’t even look into the system to see if he had A regular one or Any other colors in the system He just told me the only new one he had was a pink one. So at that point I was done arguing. So I walked out of the store and I went to Target had to talk to one person and got exactly what I asked Without an argument on what I should buy and I Walked out The store happy customer. If Corporate or Management can’t see the problem, Then none of you should be shocked Only people who walk into the store are Pokémon scalpers.

Showed up from out of town because I was in the area and found the store fully lit with the open sign on, but the door was locked, cage was down, and had a note on the door saying staff would be back in an hour. Watched several other groups of people do the same thing at least 20 people total within the short time I was still in the parking lot.

We stopped by this GameStop to sell my son’s Nintendo Switches, but ended up just missing the window. We got there about an hour before closing, and the cashier let us know they don’t buy items within an hour of closing. I should have called and asked before going, but I still appreciated that he explained it clearly. What stood out was that he didn’t just leave us there — he actually directed us to Disc Replay in the same plaza as another option to try, which was really helpful. The store itself felt cool, welcoming, and easy to navigate, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the interaction. So even though we didn’t complete the sale, it was still a positive experience overall. Just a heads up — if you’re planning to sell, make sure to go earlier in the day. 😁

One, never can seem to get anyone to pick up the phone. I've tried calling multiple days, different times of day and no answer. Just want to report an issue to management and can't. Two, this location charged my son a warranty on a game without asking. I was standing right there, didnt get asked either. Didn't realize til we got home. Scummy stuff GARY. I reported you to the BBB and your corporate office. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
