I stopped in to buy a Nintendo switch as a gift and felt like I was taking my truck for an oil change. The associate (Leo) took it upon himself to assume I wanted extras and wanted the updated switch that comes with a free game and proceeded to ring it all up. As soon as I told him I wanted the other version his attitude changed and all of the sudden I was an inconvenience to him. Don't make the customer feel like shit for spending $500.

Avoid this location! This University Heights location has the worst employee by the name of Leo that is completely rude and disrespectful. He thinks he can talk to customers rude and with attitude and I’m glad I put him in his place. This jerk cancelled my order when it was paid for and tried to have me authorize my credit card a second time with no apology but was quick to give so much negative attitude. Tried to correct me in front of my son when he was in the wrong and then tried to apologize in a condescending tone all while I’m purchasing more items. If he’s so discontent with working there he should quit or be fired. It’s not the customers fault if he hates his job. He belongs in a job not interacting with people as he lacks the skills to do so. As a manager I would have fired him a long time ago. So many reviews show history of his poor attitude. Hope his general manager finds out asap. I left this location for the one by the Rim and spent a couple hundred there instead. Shout out to Brian at the Rim location as he knows how to treat people, but Leo “the jerk” at this Dezavala location - thanks to him, this location has lost my business. How many more people have to endure his attitude before this location loses more business? Open your eyes management, this guys a cancer in your store that needs to be removed!

Location: GameStop – De Zavala & I-10, San Antonio We’ve been coming to this GameStop location for over 12 years, and it’s actually my son’s favorite store. Most of the time, the regular employee there is outstanding—knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful. That’s why this experience stands out so much. On Easter Saturday, a temporary employee was working (we’ve seen him rotate through other stores before), and we had a serious issue. My son purchased four games, and the employee put the wrong game in the case. When we pointed it out—calmly—he insisted it was correct, even though the actual game was visibly sitting behind the counter. Instead of correcting the mistake, he became dismissive and said, “If you don’t like it, you can leave.” That’s not customer service—that’s avoidance. We waited, and during that time he handled the transaction again—and gave my son the wrong game a second time. Only after being called out again did he finally fix it. This wasn’t a simple mistake—it was repeated carelessness combined with poor attitude and refusal to listen. We will continue supporting this location because of the regular staff, but this temporary employee should not be representing the store. One bad interaction like this can undo years of trust.

I had a disappointing experience at GameStop. I specifically asked the manager if I could bring the product back if it had a factory defect. I was told that it could be exchanged but not refunded, which was confusing and felt misleading based on what I was trying to ask. I was also spending several hundred dollars and politely asked if there was any discount available, since GameStop is known to sometimes offer them. In response, the manager made a dismissive “pshhh” noise, which felt disrespectful. I was just trying to understand the policy and make a careful purchase, and the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and poorly treated as a customer. Manager needs to be retrained , don’t go to this GameStop.
