Went in this store to try to preorder the new Pokémon card set. The first question I asked was if the products were priced at retail and I was told they were. After ringing me up the cost was well over 60$ for a booster bundle (msrp is ~27). After seeing this price I said “never mind I thought you priced them at retail.” They then tried to convince me that 60 something dollars was in fact retail price instead of just admitting they were charging double because they are greedy scalpers. Bad business and bad for the hobby! Also why the hell are you charging 300$ for a pitch black booster box that’s 100$ more than the scalpers charge.

Make sure this store goes out of business. They never answer their phones even though they work. I had to call their phones for over 15 minutes. Just for them to pick up and give me attitude for a defecting item they sold to me without doing their due diligence. They literally give you attitude for just doing their job. Since it seems like they loathe working let’s all do this store a favor and stop shopping here It’s a shame because I used to come here all the time growing up. Now it’s filled with employees that don’t care.

Went to the store with the intent to buy an express sd card for a switch 2. Went straight to the counter for assistance. Asked what they had available. Associate pulled out and showed me the options. After I made my selection. The associate informed me that it would be $30 more than the price he stated it was. They was a pricing sticker on the item as well that reflected the lower price that I was told. I told the associate that I would like the item but I wanted to pay the price I was given and that was priced on the item. The manager Steve stepped in. Rather than work with me on a mistake that he or his staff make he told me in less kind words that I could pay the inflated price or I could leave. As a follow up I checked on the floor to see if the item was priced out there to justify the correction. It was not. I contacted customer service on the issue and they have yet to reach out. The incident happened mid afternoon on may 9th, 2026. It’s not the first incident that I’ve had with the staff at this store either.

Stopped by GameStop at Annapolis Mall and honestly left shaking my head. I had a brand new, sealed copy of Metal Gear Solid with the original Target receipt — retail is $69.99. I asked what they’d give me in store credit and they offered $9. That’s not even low… that’s borderline insulting, especially when they’re turning around and selling used copies for around $44. The math just doesn’t make sense for customers, and it’s exactly why people are fed up with the trade-in model. What made it worse — I was actually planning to just return the game to Target and come back to GameStop to buy something else. But they didn’t even have basic titles in stock like the newest Madden, 2K, or MLB The Show — not new, not used. So there was no reason to stay or spend money there anyway. I ended up going back to Target, got full price back with my receipt, and just swapped it for a game they actually had in stock — and they’re not even a dedicated video game store. Between the lowball trade offers and lack of inventory, it’s hard to justify going here anymore. I get that margins exist, but this feels way out of touch with reality. This is why places like this are struggling to stay relevant.
