A horrible GameStop location! Go to Leominster instead. Every time I go in there just to browse or whatever I have employees harassing me about why I’m there, what I am looking for etc. sometimes I go there just to see if there’s any interesting games out and I feel like I get a death stare when I walk out without buying anything. A few months ago I decided to trade in my old PS4 because I was no longer using it and it was collecting dust so I traded in all my games and system associated with it. From the start, I had issues. First they gave me an attitude for resetting the system and basically told me now they have to do more work. Then they low balled me due to a stupid reason (pads on my controllers weren’t working right) whatever. I got my $130 credit and they tried to get me to buy something immediately. Luckily there’s a game I wanted so I got that. I still had about $70 left on my card which I decided I was going to use on steam gift card purchases because I don’t play games on anything besides PCs. I went in another time to get a steam card and had zero problems was in and out. This 3rd time now I still had money left on my card so I bought another steam card to use on a DLC pack on steam. I was asked for my phone number (I’m guessing to get you to sign up) I said I didn’t have one. I was harassed a good 4-5 times about signing up for pro membership after politely declining, the interaction became quite intense and uncomfortable. The employee kept going on about how if I bought the membership I would pay less for the steam cards and get rewards for when I came in and bought them. I finally said no I don’t come here often enough to get the membership and wasn’t interested. The employee became EXTREMELY rude, disrespectful and rude was huffing and puffing under his breath when I told him no quite a few times. I have $18 left on my card and I don’t even want to go back to this location to use it. As a person who is going to college for business and work in sales currently, I understand that the business relies on sale/revenue goals to make money and to offer bonuses to management and commission to employees. But to become extremely disrespectful to customers when they don’t want to buy a membership off of you or be very pushy is extremely wrong. You guys need to relax and not pin it against a customer when you don’t get a sale. I’ll be going to the Leominster location moving forward and will not be in this location ever again until there’s new staff. The fact that you make it the customers problem that you’re not meeting your sales goals is straight up wrong and unacceptable.

Bought a Prismatic Evolutions ETB from GameStop for $150 and was handed a visibly damaged box that they appeared to be trying to hide. Before I even accepted delivery or had a chance to inspect it properly, the order was already marked completed. When I tried to return it, I was refused, and then told I’d be banned from the store if I disputed the transaction with my bank. Collectors pay a premium for sealed products because condition matters. Selling damaged product at inflated prices and threatening customers over disputes is unacceptable. Extremely disappointed with how this was handled.

The manager of this store Tom, whom is the only employee I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with, is extremely unprofessional and flat out rude to customers. I used to go to this store quite frequently as a teenager due to a serious affinity for video games, and it was beneficial at the time for me to have a pro membership due to how much money I spent. About 4/5 years ago I cancelled it because I only go into the store now once every 3 months, if that, just looking for a collectible or poking around, and it wasn’t worth my money. Every time I go in now, I get pretty much harassed by the manager Tom to renew my pro membership. There have been multiple encounters I’ve had with him where he pestered me multiple times upon checking out, despite blatantly saying no, and still just doesn’t take no for an answer. I know that their pro membership sales are part of their work performance, but the way he goes about it is extremely unprofessional and condescending. This experience today topped the cake. He pleasantly greeted me upon entering the store, and when I stated “I’m just poking around” he did leave me alone for my store visit. Once I went to check out he asked about my pro membership. I politely shook my head no and verbally said no to wanting the membership. He still continued to ask and pitch the sale, to which I stated again that “no I’m not interested”. After my third no it became very uncomfortable, he aggressively rolled his eyes at me, and began physically throwing my items onto the counter and in the bag, and as I was trying to just pay for my items and leave, after him rolling his eyes at me and throwing my purchases into a bag and on the counter, he still wouldn’t give me my bag of items until he put in a pro membership paperwork into my bag. I will no longer come to this store because this is not the only time this specific employee has made me feel this way, but it’s just downright rude. Leominster is a much better store with much kinder employees.

Terrible location. The employee working in there got mad when I told him I didn’t need help I’m just looking and gave me a bunch of attitude it was awkward and I left. It happens multiple times even when I’m with my kid, and I am polite at first and then just harassed and pushy that I finally said something, of course you should always greet your customers, but not always push for something even when they say I’m just looking . Every time I just feel like someone’s breathing down my neck where I just wanna look and if I wanna buy something buy something which I have.

After multiple inquiries, I am now edititing this review to go into more depth. I went in to trade in a console. I go to the desk and speak with a young tattooed skinny man and ask to trade in my console. (By the way, I was not greeted as I walked in as one employee looked as if he was on his personal phone and the one I spoke to did not care.) As I asked, the first thing that comes out of his mouth was do I have a stand. I said no, and he said we won't take the console. I then did his job for him by asking if they had a stand I can buy and then trade in. After a big sigh from the employee, he found one and then asked how I used my console at home, standing up or laying down. I do not know why this was asked but I told him both. His response was if you stand up the console, your house can burn down. This was highly uncalled for, but I continued the transaction anyway. By the way, as this entire transaction was occurring, the other employee seems as he was swearing with another customer while failing at explaining how their psa submission works. As the console is tested, the employee, tattooed skinny man, said the controller is broken, I can't take the trade. I then told him that it was probably dead and you should try it to plug it in. He then attempted to plug it in with my cord I provided, and it would not turn on so instead of trying with a cord gamestop has for the sole purpose of testing a controller, he then, for the third time, stated he can not take in the console. I then said to him to try with the cord gamestop has, and he reluctantly did so. The controller turned on (as expected) and connected without an issue. The first controller was stated to have stick drift, so I asked how much to trade it in, and he said 9 dollars. I then told him I would rather sell it myself for that price and he proceeded to make a comment to the effect of it I sold it myself I would be scamming other people by selling a broken controller (btw, stick drift it an easy fix with a simply hardware update, which is why gamestop still takes them). He then tested the other controller and stated it was good and proceeded to give me a trade in value of 275, without offering my the gamestop pro membership for extra value. I then asked to be signed up for the pro, and he again, seemed annoyed, and signed me up with an existing number. I then asked to change the email because the email shown was completely wrong, and when he went to change the email, the computer went blank (this is where it gets fishy). He then said he had to rescan all the items, and as he did that, he then claimed the second controller had stick drift in the slightest and proceeded to offer me 220 and change or 260 and change (with pro) for the trade in. From the start, this employee did not want to process my trade in and throughout the entire interaction seemed annoyed, made disgusting comments about my house burning down, and proceeded to lower the cost after the transaction was on the screen claiming a controller had stick drift (btw, I tested when I got home and the controller was fine). After this interaction, I proceeded to get frustrated as a customer and I cussed, not at the employee, but at the situation on how frustrating it is. He then continued to argue with me, stating that my stuff was broken, called me an asshole, and threatened to ban me from the store, all because I was questioning on why my price reduced when I just wanted my email to change. I will be selling my console on ebay now. I went to GameStop for convenience. However, I ended leaving with frustration. All I wanted to do was purchase an XBOX Series X, not be told me house was going to burn down if I played with my console a certain way. this is written from my perspective 10/11 update. Went to the GameStop in The Nash mall in NH. Tax free. Neither one of my controllers had stick drift, they helped me with my missing cord and stand by charging me 4 dollars for replacement (the one in Gardner tried charging 20 plus), and I got max trade in value.
