Cashier says warranty is free cause I was already saving 5 dollars. Proceeds to put warranty on remove savings. Free means 0 dollars, please train your employees to understand topics involving math.

Drove 40 minutes because the store says open online. Confirmed by business weeks ago. The store is closed. Makes no sense why have your hours listed to 8pm if that isn’t the case.

Told purchases limited to "one per party" instead of the usual "one per customer" ?, unless of course you sign up for their paid membership, extremely strange unpleasant interaction, won't be going back.

Where do I start with all the problems... 1. On 11/10/24 my teen daughter went to GameStop for the first time and loved it! I decided to buy the membership for her for Christmas so she could use the $5 monthly coupons all year long but it wouldn't activate. They couldn't figure out why, couldn't fix it, and refused to give me a refund. I was tired of the runaround and just wanted to cancel it. I had to email and visit the store for 3 weeks to finally find an employee who knew how to fix the problem and get it activated. By then it was 11/30/24. It should not take this long for someone to fix an issue. 2. I was in there one day and saw the employee talk a teen into a membership by telling him that if he bought the membership that he could save a lot on his purchase that day. He bought the membership and then the employee refused to let him use it, and said it wouldn't activate until the following month. The teen argued and eventually walked out without buying anything but the membership. I was not impressed with them taking advantage of a kid and lying to get him to buy a membership. 3. I had a coupon that was for my final month of membership and good until the 30th and went in on the 13th and the employee refused to honor it because they cancelled my membership on the 10th even though they never activated it until the 30th. He said I couldn't use it if my membership wasn't active and he didn't care if the date was still good. Instead of trying to find a way to give us the $5 off he tried to get me to reactivate my membership. There is no way I am ever doing that again! 4. The return policy on their own receipt says 15 days for "unworn" clothing but when I went in after 7 days the employee refused a refund. My daughter said a t-shirt didn't fit her so he said it was considered "worn" even though it was just tried on for a minute and tags still attached. Trying something on and actually wearing it are two different things but apparently GameStop plays by their own rules and makes them up as they go. I have never been to a store that wont let you try on clothes or considers them "worn" and unreturnable if you try them on. If this is really their policy then employees should tell you before you buy and explain how they are different from every other store. I asked how people are supposed to know what size fits if you don't try it on and he said customers "should know their size". This sounded so made up to me and I was so frustrated arguing with him that I just left. I contacted the online customer service and told them what happened and they told me to go back into the store and ask for a manager to get my refund and contact them if they refuse again. There is only ever one guy in there and the store is 40 mins from my house so I will not be driving back and forth to try to figure this out. Half the time I go there the store is closed for lunch and last time I waited for over a half hour for him to reopen the store and then he was still 5 minutes later than the sign said. The emails from the company seem totally AI generated sometimes so it seems like a waste of time anyways. I don't think I am even talking to a real person but they just want to pretend they care. If the company really wants to lose a customer and screw me over a $19.99 t-shirt, and that's the hill they want to die on, then so be it! We will NEVER set foot in the Bangor GameStop again. I still don't know if this is really their policy or if the employee was just being rude. Either way, they lost a regular/monthly customer over it! We have bought something from this store almost every month for the past 16 months and would have continued to shop there if they cared at all about customers being happy. The way they run the business seems like they are just trying to screw over customers to make a buck and don't care about honoring their own policies. They are just being dishonest at this point and I don't find them trustworthy at all. Zero customer service means zero business from my family. It is sad because my daughter really loved shopping here.

This store literally never answers their phone for questions. I am just expected to waste my gas just to go to the store to ask a question I may not even like the answer to? Nah. Do better. The phone exists for a reason.
