GameStop - 2622 - Nacogdoches Village

I been coming to this location often for the last 6 months and notice very fast that the employees/workers had always been so open, welcoming, cool, nice, gentlemen, funny and just all in all cool again. I like coming to this place because well its game stop but also the people who work here. Today they had just went above and BEYOND. They told me about deals I didnt even know, they got me a figure that wasn't put out yet from their shipment in the back, and even offered to charge my phone when it was on 1. I asked for them to put their names on my receipt bc I just HAVE to put in great word. So thank you to Tim, Josh, Lane, and Nick also a guy with long blonde curly hair I dont think he works here anynore but all of them were super super cool and helpful I hope the best for all of them.

Homie with the ponytail, tattoos has a major bad attitude. I watched him get upset with a kid for returning something without a warranty. The dad showed him a video that clearly showed the controller was defective and the employee proceeded to slam stuff around, huff and make a bigger deal out of a simple exchange than needed. It seemed like that poor kid, and myself pissed him off. When he got to the guy behind me, he was chipper as could be. I understand working on a Saturday by yourself is tough and stressful, but that does not mean you take it out on customers. Do better Naco Gamestop, absolutely ridiculous.

I needed a new PS4 controller and every single one they had in stock was defective. The staff were nice enough but come on man I had to drive back 2 different times and I still didn't have the controller I needed. I went to another GameStop location and that one finally had a working controller.

I went to trade some games in and had an awful experience with store associate Nick. He asked me if I wanted to renew my membership and I said no. Then after he scanned in my trades, he said “I’m just going to renew your membership to save you some money” which I know was a lie, I was only trading in like $50 worth of stuff. I wasn’t earning anything extra by renewing, he was simply deducting the $20 membership from the $50 I was going to get, giving me less to spend on games. Then I asked him to take that off and not renew (my membership wasn’t even expired), and I asked to buy a new game that had a sticker on it that said $34.99. This game was also marked to $29.99 on the GameStop website to order for in store pickup at the very same store. But it scanned in as $64.99 at his register. He said he couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t match their website or honor the $34.99 price literally labeled on it. I took my trades and left. I understand GameStop is one of the notoriously worst work places and pushes unrealistic sales quotas on employees, I get it. But Nick was outright manipulative and wouldn’t honor 2 repeated prices he should’ve honored, also standing right next to who I believe was his manager who seemed to have no issue with this. Him trying to add the membership was deceptive and anti consumer.

The employees are always so kind and helpful. Unfortunately they regularly have to deal with a lack of AC and with summer around the corner this is totally unacceptable. As one of the last game stops on this side of town I am writing this review to get awareness out there! CORPORATE DO BETTER THESE EMPLOYEES DESERVE BETTER!! THEY WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF!!!!
