GameStop - 185 - Carolina Place Mall

The cashier seemed lost on the checkout process. She added warranty fees twice without asking, couldn’t find one of my games, and told me to “quickly” grab a replacement after I had already spent a lot of time picking out 4 games for the buy 4 for $40 deal. I didn’t really have a good backup option, which didn’t help. She also said my GameStop gift card wasn’t a GameStop Card until I suggested manually entering the card number and PIN, which worked immediately… Heard her gossiping about customers as well I know it’s GameStop but just really unprofessional and made the checkout and experience way more difficult than it needed to be

I went to this location the other day and felt so so dismissed. There were 3 cashiers all communicating and assisting one customer. I was standing there 5 minutes and no one stopped to during the conversation to at least greet me. All look in my face as if they seen a ghost rudest thing ever. I just left, I refuse to spend money in a place receiving that type of treatment. Really it’s the principle because I have been in customer service for 23 years. I have seen this type of behavior from teens which is more expected, but adults? I left speechless, customer service etiquette classes should be implemented. Customers are the most valuable part of the business. Treat every customer the way you would want someone to treat you entering a store.

My son wanted to use his birthday money to buy a video game but at the counter the lady said we had to buy an extended warranty or there was no guarantee it would work. I said but you said it's a new game and she said yes but they could ship us something that's defective and you can't return it once you open it. I told her then we'll buy it on Amazon. My husband has protection. I talked to my husband and he said that is not true. You can always return new games if they are defective. I'm glad I didn't get scammed because my instinct said that can't be right.

Game Stopcin Carolina place mall was a disappointment during a recent shopping experience. Although the staff was pleasant, they all decided to go on break for an hour and close the store completely so they turned everyone away. This was just a couple of days before Christmas on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Never got into the store to make any purchases. Definitely would NOT go back to GameStop again since the access to the store is unpredictable. The store is located inside the mall which also makes it a lengthy walk from most parking.
