Gamerz Pair-a-Dice

I first came to this shop almost eight years ago with a list of cards for my first-ever Commander deck. They had almost everything on that 100-card list, and I walked out extremely happy. At the time, I was still learning how to play Magic, and I remember being amazed by how many people were there playing the game. Over the past few years, though, whenever I came back, it felt like there were fewer and fewer players, and they never seemed to have the cards I was looking for when I was building or upgrading my decks. I honestly started to wonder if this was a shop I would keep coming back to. Tonight, I went with some coworkers carrying a list of 24 cards. I had already tried other shops around San Antonio, and no one had been able to fill the list—or even seemed willing to dig through their stock to look for them. This shop didn't hesitate. They took my list, looked it over, and immediately got to work. I didn't have very high hopes that they would find much, especially because I was looking for specific cards for the Final Fantasy Commander deck I'm currently building. They were also running Pokémon and Modern events tonight, so I figured it might take a while. When they came back, they had found 13 of the 24 cards I was looking for. But they didn't stop there. They noticed that I was specifically looking for Final Fantasy cards, and when they came back, they had also found a Final Fantasy version of one of the cards on my list that I didn't even know existed. That genuinely impressed me. They went above and beyond what I expected, and I walked out with a stack of cards that immediately went into the Commander deck I'm currently putting together. After years of coming here and feeling like I could never find what I was looking for, tonight reminded me why I loved this shop in the first place. My faith has officially been restored. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Every person i met there was extremely toxic. Very rude om the phone, and the first guy I played against in a tourney berated and raised his voice at me constantly. This store breeds hateful, slimy, and degenerate players.

Best card store in town. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Super simple to get cards, email them the list and you get your cards fast!

Absolutely hands down the best MTG card catalog that I've seen in San Antonio. You will not find a shop locally that has a wider variety of MTG singles than Gamerz Pair a Dice. These guys know their cards well and are very well organized, usually are familiar the cards I'm asking for and are able to pull them from their stock quickly. They also offer a decent selection of MTG booster packs, sleeves and other tcg necessities. Solid group of guys, very friendly and welcoming, I highly recommend this shop for all of your tcg needs.

I previously visited this place for the 1st time a while back for a Hearthstone tournament (which was an amazing event, wish there were more!). I stopped by again this past weekend after not having not played Magic for nearly 10 years. Came in with all the cards I still have and spoke with Bruce. He was extremely patient and insightful with me (listened to all my noobish questions) and recommended a deck I should start pursuing based on the cards I currently own. They have a great selection of single cards as well as a bunch of other MTG products and collectibles. Will definitely be coming by again for the modern format tournaments on Thursday/Friday nights!
