Really wanted to give this place a chance. Heard of Pre Orders for the newest One Piece set dropping at a specific date and called a few days prior to confirm with the employees. Was told Tuesday at opening. For context I used to live in Huntsville and still work there but I live towards the woodlands now . I’m much more inclined to spend my money towards smaller mom and pop shops though so this was something I was excited for. Having confirmed that today was the day for pre orders I made the drive and got there at opening only to be told that the owner hadn’t decided on an amount to allocate towards orders but to call back in the evening as it was more than likely to happen the following day. Sounded reasonable. Well come to find out from a friend who called a few hours later, the owner at some arbitrary time (seemed like an hour or so after I left) opened Pre orders and they were sold out already by this time. To say I’m disappointed and frustrated would be an understatement. Not sure if this was something done to ensure friends in the area were taken care of but it seems like everything was mishandled. This place will no longer receive any further of my business (I bought packs to make the drive not worthless) and I’ll stick to the shops close to home.

Gamer’s Grove is a great place to meet new people and learn new games. The staff is very welcoming and nice. I would definitely recommend if you play Warhammer, they have a large community in the discord that is willing to teach new players.

Love coming to the Grove it would be 5 stars but it's one major shortcoming is the website they heavily encourage using their site to place your orders which for tcg means a lot of single products they do get your order together very quickly but, a lot of the time products that are in stock in the store are listed as out of stock online I understand it's a small store with a small staff and theres only so many hours in the day but when you're told you can only use your store credit online and the product you want is listed as out of stock even though you're in the store and can see it there's a disappointing bottleneck in the chain of supply. If it tells you anything however most of the time when your town only has one of a type of business you get the feeling that you're just taking what you can get but gamers Grove despite being the only lgs around never makes you feel like you're settling. (Also there's a small conflicting statement about the in store credit issue, depending on who is working I've had them allow me to use my credit for in store purchases so I'm not sure if it's a real store policy or just a thing they use to try and get you on their website. Either way it's a small gripe to an otherwise awesome hobby shop.)

There was one person who tended to dominate the group selection process, and I was consistently placed with people I didn’t connect with while being kept away from the players I enjoyed most. Over time, this made the experience less welcoming, and that’s ultimately why I decided to leave the group. I strongly recommend not to go board game nights.

I've played at a ton of local game stores over the years and Gamers Grove is that perfect blend of friendly staff, play space, and retail. It's easy to find a store that excels in one area, but impossible to find them all in one spot!
