I just had the best mtg shopping experience. The owner was so funny and a trickster in the best way possible. He was so kind and funny and he helped me by even scouring through his own personal zombie deck. No shop owner has ever been that helpful. Honestly it was like a comedy bit, very memorable. Will come back again. I read a pervious review about being offended about a crude joke….. joke. I met Cliff for the first time and you can obviously tell he enjoys life and doesn’t say things with malicious intent. We laughed the whole time there. I read the one star reviews and I’m glad the owner responded the way he did. He’s the real deal y’all. I read that Bawls drink joke review and honestly laughed bc that was funny.

I was looking at some of the reviews and saw someone give a one star review bc of how the owner joked. Honestly, if you’re that offended by JOKES stay home lol it’s his shop he can literally do whatever he wants . We went here for the first time since moving to San Antonio and honestly it was super super refreshing meeting an owner who truly just seems happy doing what he does. He was very charismatic and such a jokester(you can tell he genuinely try’s to make you laugh without any ill intent ) he took the time to help us find the cards we were looking for and made us laugh along the way. Had lots of singles and bulk to look through 10/10 recommend.

The BEST place in town if you’re looking for MTG cards as well as the nostalgic vibe. The very knowledgeable staff had answers to all of my questions along with a splash of their own insight. I recommend this shop to anyone!

Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of tables with terrain (I play Warhammer 40K) and competitive pricing on products. Awesome store!

I’ve loved this store for nearly 15 years—but our most recent visit ended with the shop owner making an explicit sexual comment/actions to my wife during checkout. We left shocked, embarrassed, and certain we would never return. This shop was the very first TCG store I was ever introduced to, almost 15 years ago. I don’t live nearby anymore, so I hadn’t been in for quite some time, but I still spoke highly of it and carried a lot of nostalgia. My wife recently started collecting Pokémon, so we stopped in to see if they had inventory from the new set. They didn’t have what we were looking for, but they did have a Pokémon Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection priced at $149, which felt reasonable and like a nice way to help her get her collection started. We decided to buy it. That’s when the interaction went off the rails. I casually asked if they had a rewards or points program. The shop owner, Cliff, pointed at my wife and then at me and said he had “free points for her.” We laughed awkwardly and tried to move on. He then insisted we take two free beverages and repeatedly commented on the brand name—“BAWLS”—making suggestive jokes about how it “comes in pairs.” By this point, the tone had shifted, and the jokes were no longer lighthearted. They were pointed, uncomfortable, and impossible to ignore. As we tried to leave, Cliff insisted that my wife hold one of the bottles. She hesitated. When she reluctantly took it, he attempted to physically spin it in her hand. She said no. I stepped in and took the bottle instead, clearly trying to end the interaction. Rather than backing off, Cliff leaned into it. He turned the bottle—covered in raised glass bumps—and said, “Now you can feel me as you rub my BAWLS.” This was said openly, during a transaction, in his own shop, to a married couple. There was no misunderstanding. No misheard joke. No ambiguity. The intent was explicit. The comfort with which it was delivered was chilling. We immediately left the store without another word. What makes this especially disturbing is not just what was said, but how casually and confidently it was done—as if this behavior had become normal, acceptable, or unchecked. A business owner who feels comfortable crossing that line in public is not someone I trust, and not someone others should be surprised by. I will never return. I’m writing this so other customers—especially women and couples—can make an informed decision before walking through that door.
