Game HQ, Inc.

I come to this store frequently with my family. We always get magic cards and every few months we add a new board game to our collection. The shop has 3 owners and I almost always have the pleasure of being helped by Brian. Brian is extremely knowledgeable about just about everything he sells. His board game recommendations are top tier and he seems genuinely interested in helping you find a game you will enjoy. He recommended Wingspan to my family and while it's a 13+ game (I have a 9 year old) he assured me "It has to do with reading comprehension, and you know your kiddo best" and he was right, the whole family loves the game. I also over heard him say "Never make fun of someone for pronouncing a word wrong, it means they learned it through reading" while speaking to someone else and I don't know it just kind of hit me that THIS is exactly the kind of place I want to spend my time and money.

I’ve had nothing but incredible experiences at this store. First and foremost Austin (the poke guy) is the most welcoming person I’ve ever ran across in a card shop. He has made me feel welcome at every event, or just daily stop in. He recommended since I was wanting to get into pokemon TCG IRL to come to his events they host Sundays, and Monday, my first time ever participating in the event I was so nervous. So scared. Terrified. Literally shaking. And he went absolutely above and beyond to make sure I had a good time! I cannot thank you enough for that and helping me come out of my shell. The owner is also amazing! Helping me do a rather large trade in (cost wise) for my absolute dream card (Umbreon EX Sir) my card was reasonably priced. In excellent condition. And weeks before leading up to that big trade in/ purchase I would stop in to gaze at her. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the owners name but I cannot thank you enough for letting me take home that beauty. I’ve been a regular for the past few months now. And I like to think that I’ve “made friends” with everyone there and I always feel welcome. It’s a beautifully well kept location, has a great selection of singles and product. And is very roomy on the inside. With multiple long tables for lots of activities. Thank you to all the wonderful employees that work there for all that you guys to for the hobby and community. You guys are awesome. And thank you for creating a safe space for people to come hang out. Play games. And do what we love!

This store is awesome! My grandson loves legos 😄 thank you for being here . I highly recommend this store . Great deal on the bucket of Legos ,☺️🙏🏻🕊️

I love the atmosphere of GameHQ and is very well stocked on board games and they rotate through a lot of TCG cards. They have weekly scheduled events for all sorts of different games, so there is a bit of everything for everyone in the TCG / TTPG / TTRPG space. GameHQ is totally a pillar of the gaming community here in OKC and absolutely recommend checking them out! One thing that colors my review is if you are going to sell TCG to the store I have found these interactions not the most transparent, and maybe that falls on me for not asking, but at the same time they give me a final number for cash or store credit and sometimes the math just doesn't seem to math with 40% market = cash offer, and 60% market = store credit offer. They seem genuinely delightful people, and maybe it depends on who you get running the counter that you may have a different experience than me.

This is my favorite big game store! They have a huge selection of table top games, minis, paint & painting supplies, RPGs, gaming literature and guide books, neoprene mats, game carrying bags, dice, family games, card based games like Magic. The staff is very helpful! Game HQ has a huge gaming/play area, and a big game library to test games you may want to buy. They have open play nights and offer a wide selection of tournaments. The have a good presence on the Internet. They are adding more retail space on the store side! They are easy to find at S. Western Ave. and SW 89th Street in Oklahoma City.
