Fred's Westside has been owned and operated by my family since 1993 when my dad bought out another pharmacy and opened this store. I worked here starting in 2010 while in college helping my mother manage it after my dad had a stroke. She later sold it to me and I have owned it the last 11 years. About two years ago I started selling Pokémon in the pharmacy with a small 5'x3' display. TCG and Collectibles now take up about 45% of my OTC shelf space. We are 45-60 minutes away from New Orleans, LA, Gulfport/Biloxi, MS, many other towns on the gulf coast, and Hattiesburg, MS. Customers routinely drive from these areas to my store due to better pricing and availability than larger stores in their area. We are located one block away from an elementary, one block away from the Junior High School, and two blocks away from Picayune High School. We are also across the street from Picayune's largest public non-athletic park where the city regularly hosts events/concerts. We also have Picayune's largest Catholic Church a block away and largest Baptist Church 1/2 mile away. We do not sell alcohol or tobacco products and have a separate checkout for the TCG section that is situated away from the pharmacy department.
