Visited this store for the first time today. Initially thought the store was cute. Found several things I had seen online and was prepared to purchase. Then witnessed the owner and store worker treat an elderly community member in an incredibly rude and demeaning manner when she asked if they'd be interested in selling her handmade items in the store. The owner couldn't be bothered to even turn and make eye contact with her. After scoffing she responded with "we wouldn't mess with that". After she left they continued to snicker about her request. The store does have very cute items. But everything I was interested in could be purchased on Amazon or jellycat.com. The obnoxiously snobby manner in which they handled themselves was so offputting I immediately put everything back and walked out. What makes the snottiness even more laughable is the fact they're selling dumplings and squish toys to tweens while acting like a grandmothers hand made goods are below them.

This is the best store in Hastings. Lisa is wonderful, as are the other women who work there. Please disregard the negative reviews. I have been in the store with POC and she has never shown any signs of racism. I suspect there are other sides to these stories!

The owner is nasty and has a very bad attitude. We spent a lot of money here on holiday gifts and asked for them to be gift wrapped. She said that only 15 and up get gift wrapped. OK, but the socks were 18 each, oven mit was over 20. The only thing under 15 was a small soap for 14. Still refused to wrap them ir even give a bad. High prices and really abusive behavior from the woman. Will not be back or spend my hard earned money here.

the woman who owns this store is truly outstanding in her nastiness. my sister and i were excited to see such a lovely store in a beautiful town. we walked in, looked at some of the stuffed toys, and wandered around for a couple of minutes. we had just stopped by the cafe nearby and were holding our to-go cups. the owner eventually stopped us and told us that there are no drinks allowed in the store and to put them down on a nearby table. she said this a bit abrasively, but we understood why that might be the case. we said we were very sorry and my sister and i agreed to come back after we finished the drinks. my sister then said “okay let’s go” and the owner said “please do.” at this point we were so shocked and humiliated that my sister confronted her. “excuse me? what did you say?” and the owner was silent, looking resolutely down. the whole store got very quiet. as we walked out saying we had no idea about the drinks, another employee said “there’s a sign on the door.” we got back outside and the sign is about the size of an index card in small writing. i’m visually impaired and truthfully didn’t see it at all. i won’t lie, though; the intense hostility definitely felt racially motivated, as we’re two POCs as well. we decided to go to other stores in the area and we got a chance to talk to people throughout the community. turns out that the owner is notorious for being mean and distrustful. i feel for her, i do, but if you don’t assume people mean well then maybe owning a store isn’t the right choice. obviously we won’t be going back, but there are other wonderful establishments in the area worth visiting. ones that make an effort to be open, kind, and accommodating. i would not suggest coming here if you’re looking for that type of shopping experience. however, if you want to be followed and given the evil eye as you shop for your family for the holidays, this is most certainly the place for you.

What an amazing store! This store has so many cute items and I’m always impressed with the selection available. I always find myself laughing with some of the funny baby clothing they have as well. They have a good selection of jelly cats as well and the owner is very on top of ordering them as well. They have a big selection of toys for all ages which is great for the holidays and parking nearby is great as well. Definitely will be coming back.
