Black Swamp Games

Black Swamp Games is the place to go. The inventory is always plentiful, new release TCG is usually always at or around retail. It’s nice to see a small business owner always so involved and dedicated to their business, watching him work a busy shop during card games, he really shines. You can tell his love is with TCG and DND. If you’re in the BG area and love nerdy stuff, this is the coolest shop around.

I’ve been coming to Black Swamp Games for years, but I’m done supporting this place. The owner acts like he hates being there and takes it out on anyone who walks in and asks a basic question. Every interaction feels like you’re bothering him just by being in the store. Their Pokémon and One Piece pricing is ridiculous. They get product straight from a distributor and still sell it at market price or, in a lot of cases, above market. Then when you bring cards in to trade, you’re lucky to get around 60% of what they’re worth. The owner has also bragged multiple times about keeping sealed cases of product at his house and waiting until the price goes up before bringing them out to sell. That tells you everything you need to know. I understand businesses need to make money, but there’s a difference between making a profit and squeezing every possible dollar out of your customers. The whole place just feels greedy and shady now. Maybe try treating customers like actual people and stop acting like every product needs to be sold for the absolute highest price possible. After years of coming here, I won’t be back.

Used to come in here before the major boom and things were fine. Over the past couple of years they have just started price gouging and charging way more than needed. Even based on market price, they absolutely screw you over. Place also smells horrible and every single time I come in the owner isn’t even nice. The guy with the beard and the long hair is much nicer and he’s the only reason I continue to go back in here. Used to buy booster boxes from this place and now I don’t even buy singles 🤣🤣

Im giving this shop 5 stars because of the manager that works there is awesome. He is informative, patient with my kids and even short on time did a request of pulls for me. Thank you, again! The shop is also very clean and just beautiful, so I wish I could give extra stars

I have sold MTG cards here multiple times. The guys here are knowledgeable and fair. Good atmosphere and good variety in not just MTG related merchandise. Lots of stuff for people who are into Pokemon cards and table top stuff like dungeons and dragons. They have card sleeves, settlers of Catan, and lots of different kinds of dice. In December they will have in stock the new trading card game modeled after the hit anime series: "One Piece", at which point I will return to the store to purchase it. Great selection for those that don't want to travel 30minutes or longer away from BG. Also Shout-out to Dustin, Joe, and Mark! Thanks guys!
