Atomic Comics Emporium II (Newport News)

If you’re into TCGs and around Newport News, Atomic Comics Emporium II is definitely worth checking out. Clay and the crew are good people. Super welcoming, easy to talk to, and you can tell they actually care about building a TCG community instead of just selling product. Whether you’re there to play, trade, rip some packs, or just hang out and talk cards, it’s a solid spot. And apparently the boxes there have been COOKING 😂🔥 One piece 4th anniversary pre-release tournament was a hit. I managed to pull the Treasure Rare Teach, and another player pulled the Treasure Rare Luffy, and another player pulled the Treasure Rare Shanks Threeeee Treasure Rares in the same shop?? I’m not saying Atomic has the hot boxes... but I’m also not NOT saying it. 👀 Pull rates still TBD 😂 but the vibes and the people are legit. Definitely found myself a new TCG spot. Thanks guys!!

First time I went here and I’m kinda mad at myself I didn’t go sooner! I went for TCG’s. Excellent selection, super friendly staff. I’ve had my best pulls from booster packs here. I’m definitely going back. They even have a stamp card program for customers.

I enjoyed the visit. They have a deep and varied inventory. The person behind the counter was very accommodating and helpful. The prices are competitive.

This place has a great selection of 'wall books' and allows you to look at them up close. Joel provides first class service all the way!

I’ve come to Atomic Comics off and on now for about four years. Their selection of TTRPG miniatures and source material has kept my backlog of primed-yet-to-be painted tokens plentiful and at times overwhelming. Their store is allways well stocked with Magic the Gathering and other collectable card game needs and there rarely has been a time that I have stopped in afternoon or night that something wasn’t going on at the tables in the back. I would be remiss to mention there is a banquette for the eyes worth of comics, it’s in the name afterall. The employees at the Newport News location are bar-none the absolute best. They answer questions with both knowledge of their respective hobby and with an exuberance that is infectious. If you’re new to the love sequential art that is comics, or to the endless adventure found in tabletop roleplaying, or to the art and skill found in collectable card games like Magic the Gathering, Atomic Comics is the place to go to get a knowledgeable and enthusiastic primer from one of the staff. If you’re old hat and local to the 757, I’d be surprised if you are not all ready a regular. Shout out to Kyle for helping me get my wife ready for Magic with her teacher friends. You helped make the wife’s night man! Huzzah.
