Third Coast Cards is my hometown store, and I generally think they're one of the top two card stores in Houston. A big plus they have over other stores is that the space is big, and they have a pretty big board game selection to check out which is nice. The staff is very nice, though they aren't afraid to bust your balls a little bit if you come in looking for them too drop everything for you. Though they have "11,000,000 cards", I wouldn't say the magic selection is all-encompassing (sometimes missing staples and having 80 copies of random bulk), but the cash discount on cards is very nice if you can find what you want. They get busy, so submit a buy list and don't get mad if you have to wait for awhile...thankfully, they give you a call when your cards are ready and hold them for a good bit. If you're looking to hang out, buy some stuff and play some games I recommend this place over other locations, but if you need one really specific card from a 1999 printing that can only be found by digging a hole directly underneath WOTC's headquarters, look somewhere else- or ask them to order it. As a bonus, the owner leaves some of the most hilarious comments I've ever seen on reviews - definitely check them out if you're bored and looking for some fun stuff to read. Hopefully they respond to this one too!

Awesome business. The employees were so so kind. The owner Scott was great to talk to and has incredible passion and knowledge. I can't wait to go back!

Got so excited to see the new space open, only to be deeply disappointed in the owner of the store. We won't be back solely due to him. During our game, he interrupted us (during my massive final turn) to tell us how he spent 12k on the lights. When we tried to end the conversation and get back to the game, he kept complaining. During our next game, another customer came in and seemed trapped in a never ending complaint fest from the owner. He has to pay his employees X each week, and the rent cost x and the distributor... He complained for over 30 minutes. Loudly. I finally had to ask him to stop after he was talking about inappropriate subjects. He said the word P-phile more than 6 times. We asked them to change conversation so we could focus, and they then said "were all adults". I don't mind active conversation at a card shop, it's a social space, but this wasn't conversation, it was just endless complaining and stories from the owner with a captive audience. The space was clean, the cards were stocked, and the staff were friendly.

Great store for games. HUGE selection. The guy behind the counter was chatting with customers about card games which is good. We were checked on 4 times while browsing the board games which is also great. The store is a little worse-for-the-wear which is pretty typical for game stores like this, so no surprise. Have been frequenting this store for about the last 21 years on and off, so make of that what you will. Edit: They moved and the new space seems like an improvement at least from the outside. While they're still awaiting opening the instore space, they were super courteous and generous with the curbside sales. Awesome staff, great experience. I'm excited for them to be in this new location.

I really enjoyed my time in this shop, I enter with no expectations and came out very happy and glad. I can say the made my day. I came to trade some baseball cards and the employees treated me very well, almost like family the are fluently biligual, and very nice. The shop has very interesting and rare stuff, Magic the Gathering cards, role playing and even some Catalan Dice set. The have a lot of stuff, nice prices and offers and some very cozy tables to trade cards or play Pokémon or Magic with your friends. If you want to go to place to forget a little about reality and spend good time with friends and family do not hesitate to come here. I recommend them a 💯%.
