Card Merchant Ponsonby

Super chill guy was working the front desk today 28/4/2026. I made a comment about nanoblocks being a tough build and he showed us some he made for store displays. Then introduced us to some metal crafting kits saying those are also/more difficult as a topic of general conversation. We came in for some Pokemon packs and they had stock. So super pleasant surprise. Appreciate that the prices were between msrp and market. Bit above big box stores prices, but happy for card stores to turn a little profit so they can stay alive as community centres but I didn’t have to be full scalped like when I try to buy stuff online elsewhere. Cool place. Lots of funny and cute board games there too and some Pokemon art and posters which is cool too. I’m not quite into playing TCG yet, I prefer to collect art, but if I ever started, seems a safe enough place to be, even though it was kinda late at night.

Mates and I had a great time searching through the shops magic binders and bulk. Heaps of cards to look through and Sarah behind the counter was super helpful and an awesome chat

Waited 5 mins at the counter for no one to come and serve me or the guy waiting in front of me, I heard someone in the other room say to the guy who I assume was working there that there were people waiting but he put no effort in to acknowledge the people waiting so we left. I guess I'll just shop online

Amazing store with great stock and super helpful and amazing people. I felt instantly welcome and comfortable.

Cool and chill staff! Had a great chat with one of the dudes in there (didnt get his name) and entertained me and my partner even though he was busy with restocks and clearly had loads to do. Bought some Lorcana and Pokemon stuff and will definitely be back! Cheers
