It's a good place for card game lovers, but if you ask about board games, their selection is very limited, they take forever to answer, and there are no friendly recommendations. Once, I went with friends to try a new game (which they were renting), and it took them over 40 minutes just to explain the basics. If you have the budget to buy a new game, it's better to buy it directly from Amazon, or if you want a place to play, save yourself the trip and go to La Caravana, which is infinitely better and just a few minutes away (but take a taxi, because they'll either steal your car or vandalize a part).

Actually, their hours are "whenever they feel like it" or "whenever they feel like it." Even though the website says they're open, that's not the case. I've passed by there many times before, and it's always the same; it's always closed. It seems to be a store that only opens when their friends are playing games, and they're not interested in building a community. If you're lucky enough to catch them playing (in the late afternoon or evening), then you can go and try to buy something. If you go, do it in the late afternoon or evening when they've already agreed to open. The good thing is that there are other stores that actually care about having customers.

Mystery Chest is located near the Mixcoac station on Metro Line 12. It's a local shop specializing in competitive TCGs, primarily Magic: The Gathering in its various formats: Commander, Pioneer, Modern, and Yu-Gi-Oh!. The shop is a bit small, but they have several well-distributed gaming tables, perfect for enjoying a few games. They're part of the WPN community and host weekly tournaments. The day I visited, they had a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament running, but they always have people coming in to play Magic or other TCGs. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the games, ready to answer questions or resolve any issues. The community welcomes both new and experienced players and is always ready for casual or competitive play. An excellent option for weekend gaming sessions.

Prices are a bit above average, but the staff is relaxed and friendly. The place is very much for locals or people who know the area. They have a wide variety of TCGs, but not a huge selection of most. It's nice to see a shop that isn't solely focused on Yu-Gi-Oh! :)
