La Retro Tienda

Really nice little shop with a great selection of Pokémon and other collectible products. I visited while on holiday and the owner was genuinely friendly and helpful. The shop was closed when I first arrived, which was a little confusing, but after messaging him he was very responsive and went out of his way to help. He sent photos of available stock, gave clear prices, and even arranged to meet me at my hotel with the products I wanted, which saved me a lot on taxis. The prices were fair, especially compared with UK secondary market/import prices. Not retail, but still very reasonable for harder-to-find and exclusive products. I picked up a few Pokémon boxes and everything was sealed and as described. A brilliant little shop with more than just Pokémon products, and the owner made the whole experience really easy. Would definitely recommend checking it out or messaging ahead if you’re nearby.

Great little shop focussed on collectors items, mainly Asian - animé and Pokémon-related, some star wars and Jurassic park items too. We were very excited to find some black pink Oreos, which are quite difficult to get outside of Asia. Friendly owner. They also sell tickets for the animé fest and get involved with, sell at other festivals.

Coming to this shop, and meeting the owner and his wife was one of my highlights of my trip to Playa del Carmen. Will definitely be back to La Retro Tienda! There is so many treasures inside this shop, from Yugioh, Pokemon Plush, Video games, figures, and sooo much more! Would recommend to anyone!
