Not only is it a lovely cafe that you can go and chill. The staff is very friendly and lovely to help. The pizza amazing. The place also offers tcg gaming nights which are just fun, always welcoming new beginners and season pro's. It is definitely a place to visit.

Cosy little hideaway coffee shop with amazing gaming community. Tucked away off a main road between Wallingford and Cholsey, this family run coffee shop offers local flavour, a welcoming vibe and all the staff here are super friendly. Pop in for a brew and pastry, or some hot food (can absolutely recommend the biltong and avocado pizza), there’s always fresh, local items for sale, from bread to artisan crafts. For years I’d driven past and not realised what I was missing - wish I’d have known about it sooner. The gem for me is the gaming community there, from trading card games to a whole range board games, John and Jack have created an awesome environment which caters for every taste - super excited for the upcoming TTRPG events they’re introducing. You can hire our games to play, they frequently run taster sessions, especially for new games coming out and the 24hr charity gameathon was so fun! There was never a clique to break into, despite some gaming groups having known each other years, this is for me, what the local spirit is really about. The only difficulty can be the parking really - it can also get quite busy at times, but that’s just a reflection of how well loved the place is. Keep your eye out on their website and look for upcoming events. Whatever floats your boat, from Catan to Magic The Gathering there’s something for all tastes and all ages.

The oxshed is hidden away but its an absolute shining star of a cafe. The cafes food options are fantastic. They have food suitable for meals and even sides like cakes. Highly recommend their lemon muffins, pizza and their bacon and cheese turnovers. Absolutely stunning. They have a fantastic play area for children upstairs which both of my children love. Sometimes it is closed but its understandable as they do do trading card game events. The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. Never had a rude interaction from any of them and they always make me smile. In terms of trading card games their events are great fun and explained throughly in terms of prizing and rules. I love how they are fair with the purchasing of tcg items as well to help deter scalpers. The community which theyve built at the oxshed is like no other. Every time I go i feel like im home. Ive made friends for life there and I couldnt recommend it enough.

Have visited frequently to Oxshed cafe, both for game nights and for casual dining! The staff are very kind and professional, food and drink is reasonably priced and service is second to none. They have a small collectible section, most focused on TCGs and board games - great for grabbing new releases at retail prices. The game nights hosted for various TCGs (Riftbound, Pokemon, Star Wars Unlimited etc.) are well managed and great for beginners and veterans alike. I would recommend ignoring the recent negative reviews from misinformed competitors regarding prizing as they are just frustrated individuals which have unfortunately asked their friends to participate in the negative reviews despite never visiting.

A wonderful hidden gem, well worth a visit. The breakfast and lunch options are wonderful. I highly recommend the full English breakfast, Chipotle chicken ciabatta, chilli beef wrap, handmade pizzas, or locally baked selection of dangerously indulgent cakes! The cafe hosts regular evening and weekend events for trading card games, board games, and tabletop roleplaying games. The events are well organised and the staff are very friendly. The trading card game events are suitable for all ages, and are a great way to make new friends. The store is very transparent about their trading card game stock and prize allocations. They are very community focused with a strong drive towards ensuring stock ends up in the hands of younger collectors, families, and players - rather than resellers and grifters.
