THE KENILWORTH CENTRE

Staff were lovely but unfortunately when it comes to running a group and hiring a room I couldn’t recommend. You’re only allowed 15 minutes set up and pack away time but the lift which you have to manually hold a lever to go up and down and takes a while is not put into consideration, neither is the distance of the centre from the car park and being expected to vacuum after sessions also is entirely impossible in this time. Half an hour would make much more sense. Unfortunately the upstairs fridge was working for only one of my sessions then out of order for the rest of the month and no sign of it being fixed, not ideal having to go up and down the stairs when running a session. Standards/rules were also not met by other room users and I entered the room with a floor full of crumbs and bits of plastic from the weekend and bins over flowing meaning i had to waste more of my 15 minutes tidying up before my group even started, when mentioned i was met with the attitude of ‘that’s the way it is sometimes’, im grateful for the use of the room for the times that i paid for it but also disappointed with these reoccurring issues mentioned.

A genuinely community centred venue. We use it to host art classes and venue staff are really helpful & supportive. Lots of great activities going there!

Kenilworth U3A Photography Group We have enjoyed using the SCR on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm. We have between 8 and 15 members usually to share photos projected onto your screen. We also discuss technical items to help us improve our Photography. We have a refreshment break half-way with tea/coffee and biscuits using the urn in the kitchen. We need about 6 tables, the screen and the coat rack each time. After the session we check if anyone is still using the Centre and if not, we do a total lock-up including putting on the alarm. A brilliant venue to hire; great staff; great communication; great location. I've been teaching Yoga here for some years now it has a welcoming & supportive community. There's always brilliant activities going on for all ages :)

Attended a craft fair with my friend selling wooden items outside under our gazibo. The organisers were very friendly and they came round many times with free tea or coffee. Very spacious outside and then inside all stalls selling lovely items.
