Unbelievably kind staff, Jamie spoke to me and educated me about MTG for around 30 mins with ZERO expectation of me spending any money. He just wanted to help me understand about the game before I made any commitments before purchasing. Can’t recommend enough.

I recently moved to Edinburgh and decided to check this shop out after hearing good things in local Magic groups online. The inventory is decent, with plenty of older boosters and interesting products, though the selection of higher-value Magic singles felt a bit limited. The trade-in and purchasing process was also somewhat unclear. From my understanding, this is partly due to local regulations around resale and collectibles in Edinburgh, but the online system wasn't especially intuitive for a first-time customer. I arrived for Commander after placing and paying for a small order of singles earlier that day, most of which were from the same set. The cards weren't ready when I got there, which is fair enough. I understand shops can get busy and pulling orders takes time. I asked whether there was any chance the order could be prioritised, as I'd taken the train into town and hoped to use the cards that evening. The response I received from the first employee involved with pulling cards was that "being from out of town won't get your cards pulled any faster," which felt unnecessarily dismissive given the situation. A simple "Sorry, there are a lot of people ahead of you" would have been perfectly fine. What made the interaction more frustrating was that, shortly afterwards, the employee spent a considerable amount of time engaged in what appeared to be a personal conversation about local restaurants and bars while my order remained unfulfilled. Given that I'd already paid and was waiting in-store, it felt like my request had been dismissed rather than simply delayed. Eventually, I went to the room next door to eat some snacks I'd purchased and waited for around 45 minutes, but the order was still not ready. The adjacent play area was spacious but unfortunately felt cluttered and untidy, with empty boxes and rubbish visible around the room, particularly downstairs. When the owner arrived, I politely asked if there was any possibility of speeding up the order, but was told it wouldn't be possible. At that point, I cancelled the order and left. I understand that there are procedures and standards that need to be followed, but I'm used to local game stores prioritising customers who are already in the shop, especially when the order has already been paid for. Overall, the inventory is decent, but the shop felt somewhat disorganised, and the customer service came across as indifferent rather than welcoming to a new customer in the area. I left feeling disappointed and empty-handed.

Unsure about the previous reviews as my experience was pleasant. Made a phone call to this store for a pre order I placed back in February and was greeted with friendly customer service along with an eta of delivery. Item received today well packaged as expected. A great service and definitely a great shop for those whom are local. Will happily shop here again. Many thanks

Dissapointing. Was referred to this place by a friend as a good place to start since I've never collected cards before. Place is pretty grungy, needs a good clean. Went in for some Pokemon, the selection was abysmal. Maybe four packs in total. I get that Pokemon sell fast, but still not ideal. Picked up one korean pack since that was basically all they had. Paid double what it was listed for on the website which is still far above retail price. I'd have been better buying from actual scalpers on Ebay. The guy on desk was not helpful or particularly friendly. Barely looked up from his phone and had a bit of an attitude. The main selling point of local games stores, and reason they are more expensive is the customer service. Not here apparently. Unless you're there to actually play games or the events they do (probably good) then avoid.

Dingy and poorly laid out shop with such an unwelcoming atmosphere. MTG is not the easiest hobby to break into at the best of times but the staff member in this shop only made it worse. Prices on sealed products are far higher than average which was disappointing. As a visitor to Edinburgh I was hoping to support a LGS and buy some sealed products to take home with me but the prices made that a silly thing to do. They advertise themselves as a place to buy MTG singles which sounds great and is the main reason I came down but when asked I was told I could not look at their selection. They have a small group of cards in a display case (only the most expensive ones) which you can see but all their bulk and more reasonably priced singles are only available to order online. I don’t understand the point of having a physical shop when you can’t purchase singles on the day. You may as well order from an individual online and pay far less. I always want to support local businesses and I don’t understand when they make it so hard to do so.
