Visited the store last week with my 7 year old son on a quest for anything pokerman, and Funko pops for my Nephews, staff super friendly and knowledgeable and if not their area of knowledge they were extremely helpful! They listened to my excitable son and engaged with him as he listed off everything he loves about Pokerman ( star wars & Batman are my Jam) they made my son feel a million bucks with their time and generosity, he left that store on cloud 9 after talking the ears off various staff members for a good 45 mins , a week later he still says what an amazing time he had there, so thank you for creating a great memory for my son!

I visited today with my sisters and although the store itself is great with a wide variety of comics, manga and figures I feel as though the customer service really let down the experience. We had noticed that they stocked a selection of Sonny Angels and I politely asked the guy at the till if he knew wether or not the figures were real or not considering they’re commonly sold at retail price while being fake. Instead of a simple yes, no or I don’t know, the guy proceeded to loudly exclaim to another colleague who was by the entrance that I was accusing them of holding fake stock, to which he replied, probably, but what difference does it make if it’s a real naked angel or a fake naked angel… I was simply asking a question about an item being sold within the store in a polite and friendly manner. I didn’t expect to be met with hostility and mockery by staff, especially across the store. I left feeling really uncomfortable by their comments which is a shame given the store itself is great.

Limited opening hours. The store, as at April 2026 never stays open later than 5.30pm (no late shopping even on Thursdays or Saturdays), which means that, especially in the week, full time workers can't easily access the store and spend money there. This also means some staff can get rather snotty and rude trying to get you out the doors bang on 5.30pm. Yes, I get it - you want to go home, but some staff could aporoach the issue in a more positive and friendly way - customer service improvement in closing the store is needed. Good customer service must be an absolute priority in bricks and mortar stores when the customer can just buy the same products cheaper online. Part of the issue is that it's a huge, cavernous store on 2 levels, with not many staff walking the floors. This means staff end up running around, almost chasing customers out the door at 5.30pm. They don't have an audio/PA system to announce store closing - so the staff end up chasing you down to snap.at you that it's closing time. I'd just ask staff to be a bit less passive aggressive in getting customers out at closing time, or alternatively, why not stay open till 6pm like some other FP branches do? Overall the store, while bright and with lots of choice - feels sterile and weirdly empty and with less character compared to the old store premises. Oh, and the customer lift to the basement is often out of order so if you're disabled and want a book or comic - you're usually stuffed. I won't say never again, but I'm unlikely to shop here again for the forseeable future. You can get all of FP Newcastle's products online cheaper and without the snotty attitude at closing time.

Love this shop. It’s the main reason my kids go to Newcastle. Great customer service every time, always a “hello” and smile when you walk in, you’re never bugged by staff offering help, it’s there if you need it. My son smashed a cup once, the staff were so understand and helped avoid a major meltdown. Can’t recommend this shop enough for everything merch, collectable with a little bit of geek too!

Excellent shop and amazing staff. I went recently to get a gift for my daughter. I had no real idea of what it was exactly I was after but had heard my daughter talking to her friends about things she liked. Went to the shop with a very vague description of what I'd heard, the staff were amazing. Not only did they know from a vague description they also showed me other items that would be good to get. Amazing shop awesome staff, will definitely be going back.
