I was very pleasantly surprised to unexpectedly find a branch of Forbidden Planet in Croydon, which has apparently been in the town for around 30 years! God knows how I had never noticed it before, but I'm glad I did. It's much smaller than the branches in central London and even Cambridge, but they've managed to cram so many cool things inside. There was a really good variety of products, ranging from comics/anime, figures, trading cards and more. The shop has pretty good opening hours (open until 6pm on most days) and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend, and plan to return many more times!

Store was on the smaller side but didnt compromise on choices! Staff was very helpful at the counter on explaining various products that I was curious about and was very knowledgeable! Highly recommended!

Great selection of memorabilia! Despite being smaller than the Megastore in London, it still has a wide variety of stock, including trading cards, blindboxes, Marvel/ DC comics, manga, board games, badges and figures. Managed to buy a Bed Smiski (£12.50) and Series 3 Smiski Keychain (£8.99) for the same price as the London shop. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the stock, and even if they're not the biggest fan of a franchise they still provide comforting customer service. Will definitely be coming back, not only for myself, but for gifts for others!

Smaller than the main shop in Central London so there is way less stuff to browse. So, if you're looking for the rarest things you may be disappointed, but still. Considering the size they put a very good selection of the main things in each category (comics, merchindising, etc.). They did not just dump the first things they had, they actually thought about is so from this point of view is a very good selection. I've recently been to the Coventry brunch which is same size but much worse selection. Also, the staff is also super friendly.

I have come to this shop on 2 occasions- the first just to browse in which the lady at the desk barely acknowledged me and didn’t say anything back to me as I said hello- I thought maybe she’s just having a bad day and continued to browse. On my second arrival I decided to buy an item and a different member of staff was at the till but the interaction was very similar- no hello when I approached the till even though I said hi, no have a good day or thank you as I made the purchase. I understand these are small things but as a business that deals with customers especially in person I believe the customer service at this establishment in my experience was a let down. The stock seems quite decent although limited and I would recommend you to go here- as long as you can deal with the cold customer service which I hope will improve in the future.
