We had a fun impromptu night out here on a slim budget and vowed to return come payday. It's brilliant that there's so many vegan and gluten free options. The staff are top notch, keen to explain things and give tips on games. The space is well laid out (courtesy of it's former incarnation as Purezza). All in all a fun place to spend time with friends or a partner. We can't wait to get back there soon!

Wonderful, friendly staff who are so helpful and know their games. I wasn’t in the best mood today but going here tonight literally catapulted my frown upside down into a giant happy faaaace. The food options are fab, they have loads of vegan / veggie options and to my delight (as a coeliac) lots of stuff on the menu can be made gluten free. So just to recap: that’s lush staff, great games selection, great food options (and also free parking after 6.30 on the nearby roads)... what more could a joyous nerd want? Woohooo! (Thank you)

I genuinely don’t understand the popularity of this place. The amount of excellent reviews has me wondering if there’s something funny in the water. I didn’t choose CC, someone we were with had booked us in already. I was sceptical and the experience vindicated my doubts. The game selection is good but for a group of 5 (4 adults and a kid) it cost £52 to simply take a seat. The food menu was very limited, especially as veggies, and I’d say the quality and portions sizes are on a parr with Wetherspoons at twice the price. The drink selection was pretty good. The service was average to below average, it’s a venue where they have table service without having enough staff or training to do this well, so for large chunks of the evening we struggled to get staff member attention (fortunately making it it a little harder to spend money). Despite charging us over £50 to play about £40 worth of games (were we to simply buy them and take them to a pub) they then had the audacity to charge us 12.5% service (automatically) bringing the grand total for breathing on the premises to approximately £65 (regretfully, social awkwardness on a shared bill stopped me from objecting to the service charge). I had a great time because of the friends I’d brought in with me but I won’t be going here again; I’ll just buy a couple of games instead of this silliness.

We've been to the Christmas steps but thought we'd visit the Gloucester road spot for my dad's 60th as he enjoyed it last time. A much bigger space here but also a much busier vibe even though it was half 6 on a Wednesday evening. Just like the other C&C they have a massive library and collection you can buy. Can see on the walls promotions for events you can sign up to if you'd like to take part in specific community games or D&D sessions. We played a few games and while some were still really fresh you can see some card games had been well loved and possibly need replacing as the cards were sticking together in sushi go party. Great game but slows down the pace when you struggle to deal/separate the cards. Staff really chilled even when my dad repeatedly asked for things that were on the menu despite having the menu on the table in front of him 🤦🏾♂️ The food menu is different here as you have the options of burgers, loaded fries and chicken wings instead of the pizza and pies on offer at the Christmas steps. I personally prefer the menu here but a couple people preferred to have pizza. Dad moaned a bit about the price but I feel it was a standard price for today's food prices and what came out was delicious! Gloucester road can be difficult to park on so I imagine we would have struggled on the weekend to get nearby as my dad is a blue badge holder but he was able to park near by on this occasion. Overall he enjoyed his birthday and my sister enjoyed her first C&C experience too!

We went as a group and had an absolute blast. They've got some really good deals, and the atmosphere is perfect for a fun time. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a great spot to hang out with friends-highly recommend.
