Really poor experience trying to deal with this shop over the phone. I called up to see what their cash or trade percentages were, and they just couldn't be bothered. No rough estimates, no helpful information—they just fobbed me off and suggested I go somewhere else. If this is how they treat potential new customers, I'll gladly take my business to the other shops they recommended."

Owner is extremely rude. As a semi regular, I’ve noticed the pattern in which he talks down to his customers - especially those in the Pokemon space. Today’s tantrum was spectacularly tragic. Partner Collection Series 2 released, and there was a queue (20+) of people outside hoping for a possible drop at The Games Pit. In the queue was a nice time - we even ripped a phantasmal flames ETB! But as soon as the owner arrived things took a turn. Instead of politely telling the queue that there wasn’t an order placed and sorry for the wait, like I had experienced at Waterstones up the road. (Shout out to their polite staff even with no stock) The owner chose to yell at us, rave and rant, and antagonise me and other potential customers about scalper culture - when in that queue myself and others had just come down as fans of the hobby, wanting to get just any cards to celebrate the 30th anniversary. Before confirming and rudely rubbing it in our faces that he hadn’t ordered any. He continued to rudely yell at us all about scalpers and claimed not to be our local game store… when they’re the only independently owned shop in Wakefield that sells Pokemon TCG at retail price (when they have it) - hence our LGS. Not all of us who queued managed to get to Smyths, Game or Toyland with their low allocation today for which there was people queuing from 4am. (Which I’m not for - btw - but you have to accept the reality of the state of the hobby. ) Overall I’m not bothered that they didn’t order the stock, I’m more bothered about the way he spoke, it was just out of order. Treating the fans like scum and targeting individuals on the basis he doesn’t know them, for wanting a few cards on the release day of a new set. Who cares if they were gonna resell, why collectively punish the whole Wakefield Pokemon fanbase because the scalpers are earning a bit more money than you? This yelling continued for another 10 mins until he entered the shop, 15 mins after opening and encouraged people to come into the shop and argue with him. I left at this point, but I genuinely have some other gripes aside from this. They don’t use the website efficiently to let his audience know about product drops. This store has sold Pokemon at retail price without posting on the Facebook and Instagram before. You should have expected something like today surely? Also the owner moans about scalpers but scalps his customers buying by singles at 60% of market price. I’ve offered him much higher end cards in the past and I’ve had incredibly low ball offers on singles. He will rebuff this and try and say this is normal but I can definitely say for a fact it is not normal to scam your customers in the Pokemon space. It just sounds like the owner is mad that other people are profiting more than him from this hobby and it’s impacting the overall culture of Wakefield’s Pokemon fandom, negatively.

Don’t bother going in, my fist time visiting. Asked if got single pokemon cards, the “lady” replied yes have a look through these binders & I’ll get you a price. Amazing! On the 3rd page in had one of the main cards I went in for “Charizard from plas flames set!” Asked the lady if she would price me it up while I carry on looking “baring in mind I would have took a lot on this occasion as Christmas is around the corner, so always spend a couple k every year for my child” She replied with “if you’re not going to waste my time” 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ all I replied with was ya then, lost out on a big sale & walked out. Cool 5 minute visit it was 🤣 not even worth the one star,

Popped in on the weekend for the first time. I went for Pokemon and they did have a few box's and tins which was nice to see. Decent atmosphere. Owner was nice to me. Its just a shame to see stock being affected the way it has to the point that you just cant get anything, so I appreciated being able to walk out with some product. Will be going again :)

The shop is on the smaller side, it’s well-stocked with a solid range of paints and hobby supplies, especially for Warhammer fans. It's a great place to pick up essentials for your next project or just browse the neatly organized shelves. One of the perks is the option to play inside the shop. They’ve got a small area dedicated to gaming, which adds a nice community feel, though it can get a bit cramped if it’s busy. It’s ideal for casual gaming, and if you’re someone who enjoys the social aspect of painting and gaming, this is a cool spot to hang out. However, the atmosphere could use a little more life. One thing that stands out is the lack of music. A bit of background tunes could really elevate the vibe and make the experience feel more immersive while you paint or play.
