Surprise Encounter Ltd

What an amazing place. I came here with 10 other people for an evening of casual/party board games and I think I just fell in love with its charm. The board game selection is great, there's some cool things for sale, they advertise some awesome DnD sessions, the staff/owner was extremely friendly and welcoming, I mean just great vibes overall!! Go check it out.

I love this place. I learnt to play DnD here with a group of mates and the DM (Pete) was very friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun! Everyone there is super friendly and chill. You can hire a table and a DM for DnD or you can book onto existing games which happen throughout the week (drop in, drop out style). There's also a boardgame library, so you can hire a table just for boardgames. All in all, it's a great place!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Space is a little limited so I would advise booking a table if you're thinking of going. Nice selection of games, which the staff offered to help set up. They call themselves a "Tabletop Gaming Palour' which means they aren't a 'cafe'. However, you can bring drink and food from one of the many places in Fargo Village or on Far Gosford Street which I think is great as you have so much to choose from. We'll definitely be back next time we're visiting Coventry.

Booked two tables with DM’s for 3 hours for my son and 7 of his friends to play D&D for his birthday. They’re 12 years olds and can be pretty excitable and boisterous, but they all had a great time and the staff were great with them. All the kids enjoyed it, and when I asked my son if he’d go back, he very enthusiastically said yes, definitely. I can’t recommend them enough.

Wonderful and chill environment, I had a nice time and the DnD session was really good
