Evolution Games

Would definitely recommend this shop for beginners! Myself and my boyfriend are freshly new to collecting Pokemon cards, so we’re just getting used to the basics. The first time we visited this store, Phoebe was incredibly helpful when pointing us in the right direction for buying our first pack and since then, we can’t stop! All the staff are very helpful, the selection is very good and the atmosphere is great!

Love it here! Nowhere better to get Pokemon TCG in the north of England. The staff are really friendly and helpful, you're always able to have some banter with them. They price their cards by CardMarket UK sellers and honestly it's a great system which always aligns with other card vendors at shows. They have shelves with protected cards (for the pricer options), binders for EX'S, and now they've started doing singles. I've found so many of my chase cards here. Great stuff!

Recommend this shop 10 fold, amazing environment for both kids and adults and welcomed like a member of the family, always greeted and looked after well by all staff members. It’s a very well looked after family business with amazing food and games for all. Picked up some amazing cards for an amazing prices as well as the rayquaza psa 10 that the owner went out of his way to find for me after many enquiries. All in all 100/10 experience and will continue to take my business there in the future. Thanks so much team for looking after me so well. Xx

This is, on the face of it a great store. Excellent levels of stock, plenty of space to move around so your not on top of other customers, and loads of gaming space. They also have a great selection of graded cards which is fun to look at even if you aren't buying. But there are a few things that really just undermine it. First, pricing: items are often slightly over the value that you could get elsewhere, even in other local game stores (of which Halifax has several) and, very often, items do not have a price on them so you kinda get stung when you realise you are paying more than you should. Or you ask the price and get left feeling awkward which is not a pleasant shopping experience. Secondly. Staff. I've been in several times now and had the same experience. Staff just seem in a world of their own. You can be stood at the counter, with items to buy, with multiple members of staff just doing their own thing. It's honestly quite surreal. A decent store but let's itself down on things on what are some very easy wins.

As a Pokémon collector, I genuinely can’t recommend this shop highly enough. The stock is incredible, with a huge range of products available and something for collectors of all levels. The store itself is massive, giving plenty of space to browse without feeling crowded. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely personable. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve been made to feel welcome and valued – it really does feel like being part of the family. The facilities are fantastic too. There’s a dedicated gaming area, a café upstairs serving food, and downstairs there’s always a great selection of drinks and snacks with the fridges and shelves fully stocked. It’s clear that a huge amount of thought has gone into creating a space where people want to spend time, not just shop. It’s quickly become the place to be in Halifax, and it’s amazing to have such a renowned and continuously growing business right here in my hometown. The owner deserves enormous credit for what he’s built – not just a successful shop, but a real community hub for collectors and gamers alike. Looking forward to many more visits!
