Awesome place with lots of tables for lots of gaming. People have always been nice when I've been there. Opening times are great for evening gaming. Cheeseburger was also nice!

I'm the main organiser of Fringe SOUTH WEST - part of the Fringe community where our mission statement is: to connect and empower tabletop gaming communities by fostering local connections, promoting inclusivity, and encouraging creativity. BIG is possibly the only venue that allows us to hit every statement. I've now run three ~30 head events covering indie game demos, kitbashing, and general inclusive silliness and BIG have been the foundation for every single one. Ellen, Jim, and the fantastic staff have always taken any silly idea we've had and allowed us to run with it, we've managed to foster a community where people can playtest their games (and Kickstarter them after feedback), kitbash to their hearts delight and also just meet like-minded folks in the community from all around. As a venue, BIG has plenty of gaming tables, terrain, gaming mats, a kitchen that serves _really_ tasty food, and genuinely the BEST brick and mortar hobby store I've EVER experienced; seriously, the range of brands of models, games, and paints is exceptional. We couldn't have gotten to where we are today without the support of BIG and their generosity in giving us a chance!

Decided to get back into painting warhammer models again after a 30 year break I had no clue what I actually needed, I stumbled across this fantastic store Sunday morning as I didn’t fancy driving across town to the Hames Workshop. I’m so glad I did as they were so helpful with great knowledge on paint schemes for my very old collection of Space Wolves. It’s a well stocked friendly store which I’ll definitely be visiting again as it’s only 5 minutes drive from my house 😁

Today I just did a "how to spray paint" 4 hour course with Big Jim. 10 out of 10. Complete novice, never touched one before. Great banter, and he also gave advice on how to paint miniatures and big stuff. Bristol Independent Games has a great selection of models, paints, games etc. I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of starting up spray painting to sign up. Fear Naught.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Looks rough on the outside, but it's a real gem on the inside. Park, for free, on the road outside. Press the intercom button under the Trade Windows sign to be let in. Up the stairs, hairpin left at the top, go straight in. Propping the door open when it's full of "nerd heat" 😆 is essential for some fresh air. The regular customers of Jim's store are also really good people. Jim the owner is an authentic gent, proper good chap. The space for gaming tables inside is large, and the windows open, so it doesn't suffer from the usual lack of air that so many locations do. The shop has a marvellous range of paints from several suppliers, and they cover a multitude of role playing, wargaming and board games. Really nice shop. My friend and I went there after booking a table in advance on their website (the best way to do that). Remember to always buy something when you visit an independent gaming shop, let's keep them in business! 🏆 Looking forward to put next visit.
