Hydra Hobbies and Comics

I don't understand how their prices work, they say they charge for the currency exchange but if they go by the USD to CAD they are adding in a fee for the exchange itself I guess. Their compact DC books charge at $20 even which is werid cause its labeled for $13.50 and everywhere else sells it for that and with tax it would only get to $15 somthing. Even if they want to ignored the CAD price of $13.50 and use the USD $8.50.... wait that still doesnt make sense. Its not a bad shop, its the only comic book shop in probably 200kms. Good for a single issue here and there but if you want to buy full trades paperbacks or graphic novels its worth the trip to pembroke Chapters. Also I did the math on gas for a tipical Honda civic hatchback, if you lived on base petawawa it would make more sense to drive to ottawa if your gonna buy more then four issues at a go. Since every 46 minutes costs about $6.12 at $1.76 a liter and with a 55L tank that has the range of roughly 538kms given if you kept a steady pace of 100km/hr on the highway. You would save money driving to ottawa costing you only $24 both ways, that is if you decide to but at least 5 issues or more a month. If you just want a single issue or to talk to someone who knows comics this is the place. Also they do alot of board game stuff.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been going to this card shop for a few weeks now and it’s honestly been awesome. The people there are super chill and always make you feel welcome even if you’re new to the game. The staff really know their stuff and are always down to help out or just chat about the cards. Friday Night Magic has been a blast every time good vibes and a solid group of players.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The Magic: The Gathering community here is fantastic. I came for a Pioneer tournament and was impressed by how accommodating and supportive everyone was.

Awesome local store with knowledgeable staff. Carries both popular and art-focused comics and books, as well as a good selection of collectible games. Models, figures and paints round out the store along with accessories. If you are into Magic the Gathering, this is definitely the place to be, with FNM each week!
