Unfortunately, this will likely be the last time my friend and I attend Monday MTG Commander night here. When we arrived, I was informed that there was a $10 minimum spend requirement. While this was a surprise since the event had previously been free, I understand that businesses need to cover costs and have no issue with the policy itself. My concern is with how the policy was communicated. Due to dietary restrictions, I knew I wouldn't be getting food or drinks, so I paid the $10 up front. During the event, other patrons informed me that the minimum spend could also be applied toward a pack of cards. This information was never explained to me by staff when I paid, and I only learned about it through other players. When I was leaving, I even asked if there was anything else I needed to know, but the option to receive a card pack, or anything to go still wasn't mentioned. I had to specifically ask about it before receiving one. That honestly felt awkward and pushy, and I was rather uncomfortable. A simple explanation at the start that the $10 minimum spend could be used toward food, drinks, or certain game products would have made the experience much smoother and avoided confusion and annoyance. I support the store's right to have a minimum spend requirement, but clearer communication and more proactive customer service would go a long way. Thanks.

Guild house is a welcoming, nerdy, queer friendly venue that partners with local food shops to bring great food, great boardgames, tabletop war gaming, MTG, and D&D all under one roof. The staff are friendly and the table fees reasonable. Love this place

went to play boardgame with a group and this was my first time in this cafe, It was really good, great service, warm atmosphere and really fun collection of games. If you love playing boardgame, there’s this group who usually comes by on Saturday 11 am onwards to play. These are really wonderful folks, I played around 4-5 new games last week with them. would definitely visit again

Love it here! Been coming as often as I can for years! Staff's great, food is delicious, fantastic collection of games, and a good sized table to play them on. Thank you for making a such a comfortable and welcoming space.
