Nefarious Comics

Stopped in for the first time and had a disappointing experience as a collector. While one staff member behind the counter was friendly, the interaction with the other employee completely ruined the visit. When I asked to examine a high-value card, I was bluntly told not to take it out of the top loader. As a collector, it makes zero sense to buy higher-end singles without being able to inspect the actual surface, corners, and overall condition outside of scuffed plastic. The staff's poor attitude and poor handling of the situation turned me off completely, so I handed the card back and walked out. I wouldn’t recommend this location, especially when there are more collector-friendly shops nearby that actually understand how to treat customers buying cards.

Absolutely awesome comic shop! Nefarious Comics has a great selection, fair prices, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The shop has a really welcoming vibe and it’s the kind of place you can actually enjoy looking around without feeling rushed. Whether you’re into comics, cards, collectibles, or just looking for something cool, there’s always something worth checking out. You can tell the people working there actually care about the hobby and their customers. Definitely one of my favourite comic shops in Ottawa. Highly recommend checking them out!

I came here to buy MTG cards with my girlfriend and left disappointed. I felt rushed, none of my questions were answered beyond a yes or no, and I felt like I was just a nuisance that the guy working wanted gone. He told me he was closing the store for Fan Expo in 10 minutes, but there was another customer in the store and the guy working had no problem helping him. After reading some other reviews I get the feeling that women are unwelcome, so that may have been why he was so dismissive and I wonder if my experience would've been different if I had come on my own. I ended up staying for less than 5 minutes and left without buying anything. I really wish things went differently as there aren't many comic book stores in Ottawa and I was excited from all the good reviews. I hope things change for the better so I can give Nefarious Comics another chance. Response to owner: I was in the store at 11:45, I still have my bus transfer receipt from the day of so saying I was there at "roughly 1pm" is just untrue. In fact, it makes me suspect you were open for more than an hour after I left. I empathize that the situation may have been a simple misunderstanding, but the point stands that I had a poor experience at your business and my "female" friend felt uncomfortable. Thank you for your time and I wish you all the best. Sorry things didn't work out.

I always have such a great experience at Nefarious Comics! The selection is fantastic, and there’s such a fun atmosphere for anyone who loves comics and collecting. The staff are always super friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about what they do. I really appreciate the great customer service and the care they put into making the experience enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back to see what new treasures I can find! Highly recommend Nefarious Comics to any comic book fan! You can also check them out on eBay for entertaining live auctions ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing shop. Awesome vibes. Great community. Everytime I go to grab books the store is filled with people playing some sort of TCG. Comics, cards, funkos, statues, figures, etc. The selection of comics is insane; from graded slabs to 1$ bins. New comics weekly which is nice. Alot of TCG and game nights from what I've seen. Magic, Lorcana, Pokemon, etc. Ryan is super knowledgeable and willing to chat it up if he's not too busy. I suggest anyone who knows someone into comics or is into the scene themselves to check out the shop.
