Josh is amazing. I've been to the store a couple of times and he helps me out a lot with making up my mind as to what to purchase. He truly is a major asset to Mintink. He a pokemon God himself

Edit Since the writing of my review, I was fully prepared to put Mintink behind as a store I would go to and conduct business at. However I was surprised to be reached out by Rafael, head of their TCG department leading me to reevaluate my review. Acknowledgement to what happened was given, along with an apology and possible amendments. We agreed what happened was a mistake and a miscommunication that shouldn't have happened. While I am disappointed about what happened, I appreciate being reached out to be made amends with. Miscommunication and mistakes happen and they have shown that should they be in the wrong, they will do what they can to make things right and are committed to improving to prevent situations like this from occurring. Overall, I am impressed they were willing to reach out, admit their mistakes and seek to improve and grow. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be wary of pre-ordering and pre-purchasing anything from here and I recommend buying from stores that have a consumer friendly pre-order/pre-purchase policy. I was a regular Riftbound player at this local and regularly attended their events. During one of their Nexus Nights, the staff announced the pre-release event tickets for the newest set of Riftbound was up and available for purchase, and I was the first to purchase one. I noticed a week or two afterwards that the price was lowered and a few of my friends confirmed that when they were looking around at stores' pre-release event dates and prices, they saw 1 person bought a ticket here (me). I thought nothing of it since many other local games stores like 401 Games and New Realm Games have given me a refund should the price of an event or product that is pre-purchased is reduced. I sent an email just under a week before the date of the event, asking if they could either refund or give me store credit on the difference of the event. They never responded back. The day before my event in question, I am at the store to meet some friends and I inquire with the staff about my situation. I am told without any reason that the owner or manager refused to give me either a refund or store credit for the difference in price reduction. At this point in time, I do not plan to ever go back to this store and continue to do any business with them. It is beyond simply the money now, but the principle of the situation. I was the only person at that event who paid more and whoever is in charged decided to treat a regular poorly. There are plenty of local game stores in the area, such as 401 Games and New Realm Games that will treat you with respect and do right by you. I highly recommend doing business with them as they have consumer friendly pre-order policies. I know of people getting full refunds on purchased event tickets even less than 24 hours of the start date and I have personally received refunded on price reductions of pre-order products without even asking.

I’m from the US and visited this store when visiting Toronto yesterday. It’s by far the best sports and collectible store I’ve ever been in. They had everything you could possibly want, every box from every sport and every other non-sports cards (Pokemon, Magic and others). When I walked in they asked me right away what I was looking for and showed me their stock. Their slab wall was super impressive - a wrap around wall of graded cards from soccer, hockey, basketball, football and baseball. Hundreds of them. I’m only into basketball, but still spent 30 minutes just looking at all the slabs. A few guys came in looking for a specific Pokemon box and the guy working there was great - shared their enthusiasm, knew everything about the box and filled the store with excitement over the box, including me who knows nothing about Pokemon. I wish they had these kinds of stores in the US and I’d recommend any collector from anywhere to visit this store.

I chose to use Mintink as an intermediary to send my cards out to PSA as I was nervous about the process as the total raw value of the cards was over $1,000. Nothing crazy, but they were my childhood cards and ones I was lucky enough to pull myself when I got back into the hobby. I went to the store to submit in person and asked about their process in more detail. I was told that they take a picture and video of each card’s conditions so that if something was to happen to them in transit or at PSA, there would be clear evidence and a claim could be made. This made me think they cared and I was in good hands. I didn't expect 10s from anything, I was fine with 8s and 9s for the moderns and for the vintage it was what ever they got. I was doing it for the joy of preserving my memories, not monetary value in order to sell. I picked up my cards June 12th, the day after I received their email for pickup. At pickup, I discovered that my Tag Team Umbreon Darkrai had been damaged and received a 4 which was shocking. This was one of my personally pulled cards that I had taken care of. The other modern cards from my collection all got 9s and 10s. The person in the store told me to reach out to the grading department as they can provide me the video and photos taken of my submission. I emailed while in the parking lot asking for the video and pictures and was promptly told that they were closed for the weekend and would look into it on Monday the 15th. I followed up on the 18th and was told they were looking into it and would get to me as soon as they had the footage, no response. I followed up on June the 23rd and within two hours they were able to send the footage as well as a SINGLE photo of my cards. I was told each card would be photographed but instead they did 9 in one shot. Even then, from what I could tell, my card was in perfect shape while in Mintink’s possession and it must have been damaged in transit or at PSA. I brought this up and was asked to take pictures of the card in question so they could verify and potentially open a claim. I sent the pictures on the 25th. The lighting in my house wasn’t the best so I asked them to tell me if it wasn’t clear. I even offered to come into a store for them to look at it themselves. I got no reply until I followed up on July 2nd. I was told the crease wasn’t clearly visible so probably nothing would come of it as the pictures weren’t clear of the damage and it could have been on the card before grading. I remembered I had a clearer picture of the card when I picked it up and sent it in within 20 minutes, alongside a screen shot of the one they provided which clearly doesn’t show any damage in the same spot . They replied that the ticket had already been opened with the other pictures I provided and they couldn’t do anything else and it would take a few weeks to sort out. The staff handling this are either understaffed and overworked, or they don’t care and half ass everything because they get paid either way. It took me 3 weeks to get them to finally send a ticket on my behalf. To who ever reads these reviews for Mintink I ask you this. What is the point of taking pictures and videos of the cards if you can’t use it as evidence of the condition of my card at intake? Is it my fault that your staff rushed through the process and didn’t take clear pictures of my cards? Is it fair that I need to constantly follow up with you for anything to get done, only for it to be rushed and half assed? I have no expectations of this being resolved, this company has let me down consistently and I give caution to anyone that wants to use them as an intermediary. I’m putting the video provided (I had to trim 15 seconds due to google limitations), the photo provided, a zoomed in screenshot of said card, how I received it at their parking lot, as well as a close up of the same picture. You the reader can judge the quality of their process.

I ordered a product online for pickup from Mintink. When I arrived, the order was already placed in a bag and stapled closed, so I couldn’t see the item before leaving. When I got home and opened the bag, I discovered that the product packaging was clearly torn and damaged (see photo). This was supposed to be a gift, so it was very disappointing. I understand that stores sometimes receive damaged products, but the right thing to do would be to inform the customer before selling it — or offer a discount. Instead, the bag was stapled closed and the damage was never mentioned. The store has a large selection of cards, but this experience felt dishonest and disappointing. Because of this, I won’t be returning.
