THE place to go for everything TCG, board games and hobbies. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are very fair. Their games room where you can sit and play games is one of the best third spaces in Sudbury. They sell snacks and drink as well. The events are very well organized and the group of players there is very welcoming and new player friendly. They're also great with kids, i brought my 9 year old to a few events, the adult players have been absolutely amazing and the staff goes 100% out of their way to make sure your kiddo is having a great time. People share and trade cards, help each other out and there is a great spirit of community there, my little dude has a cool hobby now. They have an event schedule with theme nights, one of which is board game night where they crack open new board games, show ppl how to play and you get to play new games! The staff plays most games too and participate. If you like games and want to make new like-minded friends in Sudbury, go check this place out!

One buddy inside needs some social skills. Went into the store very open and ready to buy some cards. Not sure if it was the owners or manager, but I left pretty fast after this employee was beyond rude

Second time I visited, likely the last. Bought a $20 Pokemon card for my collection, it was in a penny sleeve, which was wierd because ususally i see them in top-loaders. I asked for a top loader and the guy bascially scoffed saying I could buy a pack of them. When I asked if I could buy just one, he did get me one, but said he doesn't usually give top loaders for such low value cards. The other guy behind the counter seemed upset too that a precious top loader was being given away. Are you guys kidding me? They cost like .06 cents. Also, $20 is not low value to some people. Making your customer feel liek their hard earned money doesn't really matter is ridiculous. Also if you want to pay top scalper prices for sealed product, enjoy their shop and get ripped off! Absurdly high prices for sealed. The singles were priced a bit more competitively, but don't ask for a top-loader!

The staff at Great Canadian, notably Kyle have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Even with a packed storefront Kyle found a minute to ask me if I needed anything specific. Awesome experience every time I shop here. A larger variety of scale models in stock would always be appreciated, however the ability for an order to be placed with their suppliers albeit with a bit of a wait time for delivery is a great compromise. Highly recommend shopping here, they have a great variety of paints and other supplies and are quick to help you acquire something they may not carry.

Outside of one experience of playing Magic: The Gathering with a friend of mine I was totally oblivious as to where to start my journey with this game. I ultimately decided to go to Great Canadian Games & Hobbies, and it was and has been a great experience! The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, and actually play the games they sell. I was informed of how to actually play MTG, where to start, how to build a deck, and was encouraged to come out to a draft night. They also have a large variety of board games outside of trading card games. Additionally, they have a very large variety of accessories for D&D, and TCGs. Their staff are very friendly, and are very good at building professional relationships with their customers (knowing your name, putting cards aside you may be interested in, etc.). It is also a very clean environment as well. That is just the retail side, the store also offers a very large playing space with a variety of snack options. This area is host to many different game nights. Some for MTG include: Draft, Standard, Commander, and Gauntlets. They also host One Piece and Flesh and Blood games as well. Before posting this, I read some of the negative reviews on here. I would advice everyone take things with a grain of salt. Everyone has different experiences towards events they've experienced. A lot of people have complained about the store not accepting trades. I, personally, have seen people try to trade bags of cards 10 minutes before closing, while the store was also very busy. When they were advised to come back another the following day, as well as at a specific time (as they were about to close naturally) the individual got upset. As I had mentioned, this is simply a matter of perspective, that person may have had a negative impression, when in actuality the store did nothing wrong. Overally, I would definitely recommend anyone new of experienced in TCGs, or even looking for a board game stops by! It is a great place to make your go to card shop.
