Games HQ

Just wanted to share our experience today at the store. My 7 year old has recently started collecting Pokémon cards and was so excited to see they had all different kinds of packs to choose from. The owner took the time to let him pick out his favourite packs and then gave him a free Pokémon card to take home. Needless to say it made my son’s whole day. We will definitely be back! Thank you again Games HQ!

Fantastic selection for games, consoles and trading cards. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff, and great prices! Currently collecting retro game stuff for myself and got my wife some newer stuff for the Nintendo switch aswell. Edit: I read through other reviews and noticed one that was lower and wasn’t adjusted after the Games HQ fixed the issue for that customer so I want to expand on my experience here. I made a mistake purchasing a cozy game for my wife and I as I didn’t check that the game was local co-op. I was able to return it and purchased something else instead without issue. And for the high ticket collectible items I’m after they are reasonably priced. I am constantly checking online for going prices and they do charge a fair price. One item I was after they didn’t have priced yet and when they searched it they showed me the going rate on a site I use to price items out, and offered it to me lower than that and I was very pleased with that. Also, for some of the high ticket items I’m after they charge what I like because their prices are at the going market value for them but you don’t have to pay for shipping as some of the items are hard to get locally and you get to actually inspect the collectible, where you don’t get that with online purchasing of retro items so in the end they still are cheaper and you know exactly what you’re getting. I have been in many retro game stores looking for high ticket collectibles as I travel a ton and these guys are top tier. They also showed me and another customer on one of my visits too their store a tip on how to check a game for authenticity that I hadn’t learned yet as some of the knock offs make it hard to differentiate and when you get into the high end stuff this is crucial. If I could relate these guys higher I would!

Stopped here a few months ago on a whim, just to check out a new store. We ended up getting a few games and a PS2. As an older console, it developed some laser issues shortly thereafter. However the shopkeeper was extremely accommodating and made sure I ended up pleased with my purchase. The prices are reasonable and the service is top notch. I have since been back for more accessories and games. I can not say a bad word about this place. Definitely worth checking it out when you are in the Port.

We are lucky to have such a great business in Port Perry! My son loves going in and chatting with the boys. Great selection of new and used games/consoles/controllers etc. at fair prices. We will be frequent customers.

Amazing experience and owner for the location. Massive selection of all different types of systems/handhelds/games and was pleased with how big the Nintendo Switch collection is. Definitely stopping by again!
