First Player inc

Great little hole-in-the-wall place. The staff are super friendly, and their singles prices are crazy good. If you order online, expect around 24–48 hours before it’s ready for pickup. Worth it for the prices, tbh. They’ll send you an email once your order is ready. Just a heads-up: it’s not really like Sentry Box or Reliquary, where you can sometimes expedite things by showing up early (even if you’re not technically supposed to). Sometimes there simply isn’t enough staff working in the back, so it’s best to just wait for the email. They have a lot of NM cards, but also a decent stock of damaged/MP cards, which is actually a big plus cause it’ll allow you to get cards for cheaper. Their casual Commander night, as of writing, is on Wednesdays and allows proxies, which is great because it means I can finally bring out and play some of my other decks. Canadian Highlander allows full proxies at the beginning, then gradually allows fewer as the season progresses. Their “Competitive Commander” night - think it’s basically cEDH, but not quite - doesn’t allow proxies. Overall, it’s a great little spot with good prices, friendly staff, and an atmosphere that feels welcoming whether you’re a casual or more competitive player.

Just received my first online order from First Player after hunting for some staples at a reasonable price. Lightning-fast shipping and impressive packaging for the cards. Definitely impressed! Will add them to my list of go-to shops.

Been here for Riftbound and Steve is fantastic. Buying cards is easy and organized and the games are fantastic. All the staff members are great and I highly recommend First Player for both events and buying. Might be a bit hard to reach if youre just commuting though

Excellent TCG hub. From what I’ve seen there are nice boosters to be found. Traded twice and each time very happy with the deal I got. Lots of players too. Pictured is my new friend Ulamog. Cheers

First player games is honestly the best Card store in Calgary, the owners are super sweet and their prices are competitive, they have commander nights on Saturdays from like 6pm-2am which means you can play for as long as you’d like. Everyone is super welcoming and sweet, would recommend 100%. Thank you to Steve and the gang over there for the amazing welcoming night. GO TO FIRST PLAYER, IT’S AWESOME!!
