EB Games Coomera – Where $21 and basic competence are apparently too much to ask Went in today specifically for the new Star Fox on Switch 2. Saw the $100 price tag and thought, “Alright, let’s see if they’ll at least match Big W’s $79.” Simple request. Reasonable ask. Instead I got treated to a male staff member who looked personally offended that I had the audacity to suggest they honour a competitor’s price. He angrily snapped that they “only price match for stores in the centre.” Ah yes, the legendary “stores in the centre” policy. A completely normal, customer-friendly rule that definitely doesn’t sound like something made up on the spot to avoid doing the bare minimum. So I left walked to JB HiFi in the centre. They price matched it to $79 instantly, with zero attitude and zero theatrical sighing. Congratulations, EB Games Coomera. You successfully turned a $79 sale into a $0 sale and sent the customer to your competitor with a story about how petty and useless your staff are. Truly impressive work. The level of “we don’t actually want your money” energy on display was almost artistic. Next time I feel like being talked down to while being charged a premium for the privilege, I’ll know exactly where to go. Until then, JB HiFi can keep the sale (and my future business). 0/5 stars. Would give negative if I could. Tally hooo and good day sir fare well

Have usually had a good experience in here. Came in today to buy a ps5 controller, jbhifi had theirs for $85 so I was like saves me walking to that side of the mall I'll get it here and asked for a price match. The woman couldn't be any more unhelpful. While I showed they were on sale, I had to scroll through to find the exact silver coloured controller and show her it was in stock. What was stopping her from pulling it up on her computer and helping? I've never had to do that previously. tbh I was getting overwhelmed trying to find the exact colour even though every colour was on sale for $85. So I told her I'll just go to jbhifi. Then found they did have they silver in stock and on sale for $85. Idk why she was so unhelpful. It felt like she just didnt want to price match or sell. Will not be returning here, just lazy customer service.

Absolutely shocking. When I tried to purchase the game and asked for price mach with target they said that part of terms and conditions they couldn’t do it. So I red entire terms and conditions and proofed them wrong. When I challenged the store manager he flipped an said it is actually store policy. So I asked for store policy and he refused. Why he refused? Because it doesn’t exist and it is made up on the go. The fact that they let me read the whole thing just for fun is just unacceptable.

The Coomera EB has been terrible. I have been shopping almost exclusively at EB since I was a young teenager. I’m now 28. This store has given terrible customer service on multiple occasions now and I don’t know if it’s the store or EB to blame. My first time shopping at the Coomera EB since I’ve half moved to the area just over a month ago I signed up for the EB+ (which i absolutely hate that there’s now a subscription EB membership) when I was trading in my OG Switch and accessories for the Switch 2. I specifically asked the employees “does the *Powerwave Protective Case with Grips* fit on the Switch 2 and fit in the dock like the case did with the original Switch” the staff there told me yes it does. I go home, try it on, it does not fit in the dock, I take it back and say “I bought this the other day after being told that it would definitely fit on the Switch 2 and go in the dock, it doesn’t, I just want to get refund it”. There was a small 2cm tear in the cardboard flap where it opens up from when I was opening it up and I was told I can’t return it because it’s damaged. I told the staff member that the case is still brand new the box just has a small tear in it can I seriously not return it because of that. I was told I couldn’t. I told the staff member I was sold this item and promised that it would do something that it actually did not so I should be able to return it because I was given wrong information. I work in retail and have done so for over a decade. That is against the ACCC. I should have gotten a refund even if I spilled coffee all over it because your team sold it to me incorrectly. False claims, misleading information to secure a sale, whatever you want to label it as, I should have gotten a refund I let that go. It was cheap, I normally don’t complain, I don’t like being the annoying customer but that was very wrong After getting my Switch 2 set up all my Pokemon games and a few of my girlfriend’s games didn’t carry over. I have never changed Switches before, I mostly play on Xbox and assumed that it all saves to my account online. Maybe I should have googled it but I just didn’t think Nintendo would be that far behind with the times. Nonetheless, I rushed back to the Coomera store. Asked the staff member if my Switch was still there and if I could please transfer my save files across in store. He spoke to me the entire time like it was such an annoying in convenience for him. If I lost my life long Pokémon progress. I would have given up and never played it ever again. This was very serious for me and it was as if I was ruining that guys day. The staff maybe should have asked if I had transferred my saves over when I traded my OG switch in. But whatever, I was able to get all our save files back, crisis averted. Today I go in to get a copy of Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition for my brothers birthday. I already got a copy from the JB at Coomera since I liked the exclusive pre order bonus way better. I ask to price match to JB, Big W, many other retailers to save myself $10 and because the JB inside the Westfield is out of stock they wouldn’t price match. Available online and available at over 4 JB stores within a 30 minute drive. Nerang has been my go to EB for a very long time now. I price match stuff there all the time. Never have an issue. The team at that store (even tho EB keeps moving the managers around) has always been a really good store. Why is it that you have two different price match policies?? Again, I work at a massive Retail company as well, I price match stuff for customers all the time, we go out of our way to look after our customers and give them great service. The Coomera EB wouldn’t price match a $10 difference because it’s not in the shopping centre but Nerang EB has done that for me for years. Seriously come on. I’ve already Click & Collected a copy at JB Hi Fi at the Helensvale store that’s 10 minutes away. I pass by it on my way home so I can pick it up for my brother. Do better!

Nice store, well stocked, clean and super friendly staff. Dropped into get a PVC figure I had seen online (Zing) that had quite a big selection so that was cool. I found the online store helpful and easy, I was able to see that an item I was interested in was in stock at Coomera.....so off I went :D Thanks
