General Games Frankston

Over the last year alone I've spent literally thousands of dollars at this store. I've built a rapport with the staff, 2 of whom in particular have been really helpful and genuinely interested in helping with questions about collecting Pokemon cards. (One guy has long hair, and the other one has dark hair and works behind the card counter). Not only do I collect Pokemon cards, but also figurines and D&D etc. This is why my experience last week with who I assume was the owner/location manager, was a real disappointment. I didn't know the rules in purchasing Pokemon card boxes, as other retailers allow 1 product per person and I normally enjoy ripping packs and normally purchase individual packs or singles to complete master sets of each release. I've recently started being interested in promo cards and playing accessories, which were not my main concern in the past. They had two different Pokemon boxes available and I asked to buy 1 of each which I thought was ok. The owner then said no 1 only, and then proceeded to say a sarcastic remark as well. Just being informed no would've sufficed. This was not an issue as I could've easily have got my sister to go in but the other box, if I really wanted it. Truthfully I regret buying the first box. I normally wouldn't say anything but this is the third negative interaction I've had with this member of staff. He seems like he is too busy to be serving or helping customers with enquiries. I chose to buy my cards here because they are a smaller local store local to me and don't like to deal with the hustle and bustle of bigger retailers when it comes to Pokemon cards. Due to these experiences I've actually put my whole collection up for sale and am giving up the hobby.

Must read before you buy from this shop!!! I wish i had read the condition of this shop before buying. Really biggest mistake I’ve made. Buying single cards from them thinking everything will be okay then the cards arrive was not good as I expected. Not even good for grading! The photos look great but not when you see it in real life. To save you time and money. Don’t even think of buying from this shop single card. Also I asked for refund for the bad cards, they will not refund. Plus I did call in and talk to one of the managers he was very rude. This shop is a scam people so don’t buy anything from them. They should have make people more understanding and try to solve the issue in a good way because some of us 200$ is a big loss. I could have buy a booster box but again I trust in them!! Anyway this is my true experience never again buying from them 👎🏻

Amazing store. Great selection, and stock is constantly being updated. Always tons of packs, and a very easy to use in store TCG card ordering machine. Lots of cards, have bought many there, reasonable prices. Lots of other stuff too, such as warhammer, figurines, and other collectibles. Nice staff. Would recommend.

Friendly staff and great service. For their re-opening of their new store location, I loved the crowd control and how everything was handled. Will visit again when its more calm.

Ordered online 3 Piplup cards, my first cards and my favourite pokemon. Came today and so happy with them!!! Very nice staff even through emails. Wish i bought from them sooner!! Cards are in pristine condition!!!!
